Great machine

Been using this mower 2 seasons and has been great overall machine. Had a defective spindle initially...service and replacement was prompt and professional...other than that the only complaint I have would be no suspension for the seat. Runs great, cuts nicely, very maneuverable and is fast enough... read full review »

I bought the Craftsman 52" Zero Turn last September.  I have used it less than 10 hours and have had to have service repair come out at least 6 times.  5 times were transmission issues and one was an electronic issue.  I had another transmission issue today which means that service will have to come...

I mow approximately 5 acres twice a week.  Within the first 15 minutes of the machine being on, one of the steering springs broke.  Had to wait a week for the parts!  Have had problems with steering fluid leaks, belt derailing, and poor traction.  At the slightest incline or decline, you're stuck and can't get turned around.  Have to shut the machine down, get a chain, get a 4wheeler, and pull to nearly flat surface, clean tires and resume.  The cut always leaves a small patch of uncut grass, requiring a second pass.  So much time and money wasted.  The rear tires are weak and will puncture...

The thought that went into the design is superb. This mower is strictly heavy duty. If you can't mow your grass with this mower because it's too tough, your next choice will have to be a bush hog. It has a very solid feel while riding and cutting. The speed is wonderful without sacrificing cutting performance. It is very easy to maneuver in and around objects. The seat is comfortable, but lacks springs, with very nice supportive arm rests. The gas capacity is great. It holds more than half as much as my car. I now look forward to cutting my grass instead of dreading the task.

Fantastic!

I purchaced this mower for my 5 acres in Missouri. I have over 75 hrs on it and not even a bent blade. Wish I had this mower long ago, cut my time in half. I started out with another brand, It had springs on the wheels so i thought it would ride better, however, the cut was not even. When I complained they said it was because my rough yard was causing the unit to bounce up and down. 2 fixes and a bad cut later I returned it and just happened to find this at the Sears Home Town Store.

4 day review

I bought this mower on Friday and immediately focused on the overbuilt deck. This is a GOOD thing for me as I am using it to mow our horse pastures as well as lawn-work. It is a fast mover and cuts well. The double gas tanks are a feature that puts my mind at ease when out in the field. 8 1/2 gallons goes a looong way! I noticed in other posts complaints about the rough ride. I did not find the ride on my Craftsman Pro... to be noticeably rougher than other zero turn mowers, including my Dad's Grasshopper. In the three days I have had it, I have put it to the test and I am pleased. If I had to... read full review »

exactly right

I enjoyed reading all the reviews, as of this date, and will vouch for the fact that they are all correct. I am very happy with this mower. I have done professional mowing in the past, and have owned more mowers than I can recall. One thing I've learned is that there will never be one that is "perfect." Some of them get it right on some areas, and some of them get it right on others. This one is definitely not perfect; the seat is too rigid; and the clutch is too low; but when you take into consideration the price I paid, this is the best machine I've ever owned. I'm going to get to work on the... read full review »

Poor design

My mower has sixteen hours on it and the spring that holds the tension on the drive belt has broken for the second time, the first time it took three weeks to repair the simple thing.   A machine costing this much should be reliable and service should be better

Excellent mower!.  Heavy duty construction and very powerful.  The time saving alone is worht the price.  You will be able to complete the grass cutting un-believably fast and it looks great.

I would recommend this mower for anyone who wants the best and does not mess around with some junker lawnmower.

This is worth every dollar!

Fantastic

I own two Craftsman Garden tractors and bought a Craftsman professional this spring. I enjoy the o turn so much I do not use my garden tractors to mow. The professional is so sturdy and well built that it is a pleasure to set in the seat and mow. I have one thing that I would like to see changed. If you would design a spring type or a cushion seat to help take the roughness from the ride of the mower, it would be perfect. I let some of the air from the tires and it helped. It stills has something to be desired as to the smoothness of the ride. I mow 2 acres weekly.

4 stars

I purchased the Professional Grade Zero Turn mower. It is made by Bob Cat and this was a selling point for me. However, at 25 house the tension belt spring 'snapped', rendering the mower inoperable. After a long period of delay and rescheduled service I took the mower back to the retail store and they replaced it with a new one. From reading other reviews this seems to be a major mechanical problem. Overall the mower is a well built machine. It reduced my cutting time for 2 to 4 acres by about one half. It is powerful, runs smoothly and does not bog down in heavy grass. I, too, had a problem with... read full review »

Sears Pro 28875 Zero-Turn, Great machine!

Since buying this zero-turn I've been waiting patently for the grass to grow so I can cut it. This machine is awesome! It tackles the heavy growth areas at cutting speeds that will stall out my riding mower with freshly sharpened blades. I've done my homework, for the price you can't beat it. This thing is one great grass-cutting machine that's built to last! Nice job Craftsman

Highly Recommend this Zero-Turn Tractor

We just purchased this Zero-Turn Tractor and I would highly recommend this tractor. If you are going to purchase a Zero-Turn Tractor do yourself a favor and spend the extra money, this tractor is more than worth the money. Very easy to use and you can cut your lawn in easily half the time of a regular garden tractor. Worth every penny we spent.

Model 28875 Zero Turn Mower

I purchased a 28875 zero turn mower on March 28 2008. On June 19 after approx. 15 hours of operations, the steering broke. The mower cannot be steered. Though under warranty and I have an extended maintenance agreement, it is taking two weeks to have a service man check the mower. Then, if parts are required, it will take one to two weeks to receive the parts depending on parts availablity. After receiving the parts, I will have to reschedule the service man - another one to two weeks. All this time for a new heavy duty commercial grade mower. I must either use my old mower, which for health reasons,... read full review »

Great Mower

I have not used zero turn mowers before but this is one is great. I have close to 3 acres and it cut it in pretty good time even in thick weeded areas. My 3 acres are very rough and with small pot holes and uneven terrain there are minor draw backs. There are no springs on the seat and no pivoting arm for the front wheels. This terrain will beat you to death. I did have one small defect. The spring that tensions the transaxle belt broke, leaving the mower unable to steer. This took about 2 weeks to get the parts and fix. This may seem to be a long time to some but if I had chosen to buy a mower... read full review »
