Delivered on time, started right up, ran it for 2.5 hours right off the delivery truck, mowed three quarters of my 6 acres in that time without any problems! What a fantastic job...more than I expected. Riding it is almost like floating across the lawn, especially when turning for that next cut or around a tree and flower bed. Worth every penny!...

Very impressed with mower so far. Have only had for two weeks. It replaced the 62" Stanley that Sears sells on line, was a nightmare. Mower is used to cut app. 4 acres and just handles the job so well. Deck is veryyyyyyy well made and I like the way the PTO when engaged starts up slow at first. I think this will prevent drive belts from coming off in the future. I will probably add springs to the seat, but really is not to much of a problem. Will try to give updates as time goes by.
...

Been using this mower 2 seasons and has been great overall machine. Had a defective spindle initially...service and replacement was prompt and professional...other than that the only complaint I have would be no suspension for the seat. Runs great, cuts nicely, very maneuverable and is fast enough for me to cut 5-6 acres with many trees in very good time....

I bought the Craftsman 52" Zero Turn last September. I have used it less than 10 hours and have had to have service repair come out at least 6 times. 5 times were transmission issues and one was an electronic issue. I had another transmission issue today which means that service will have to come out a 7th time in under 10 hours of use. The drill is that the product breaks down. I call service. They come out 3 to 4 days later and say that they have to order a part. The part comes in and the service repair guy comes out 3 to 4 days later. Meanwhile my grass is half mowed and keeps growing. I then operate the unit for an hour to an hour and a half and the unit breaks down thereby restarting the cycle. I have asked them to replace the unit the last two times. They say that they will not replace it if it can be repaired. I said fine. Please repair it. All I want is a working unit. They patch it up and then it breaks down again. I need to have a standing appointment...
...

I mow approximately 5 acres twice a week. Within the first 15 minutes of the machine being on, one of the steering springs broke. Had to wait a week for the parts! Have had problems with steering fluid leaks, belt derailing, and poor traction. At the slightest incline or decline, you're stuck and can't get turned around. Have to shut the machine down, get a chain, get a 4wheeler, and pull to nearly flat surface, clean tires and resume. The cut always leaves a small patch of uncut grass, requiring a second pass. So much time and money wasted. The rear tires are weak and will puncture easily. The deck is very difficult to clean underneath. Sears seems unable to keep ample fluid on the shelf. Once my third year is up, I'll take great pleasure in using a blow torch to dismantle this piece of **** and will ensure it never gets on my or anyone elses yard again.
...

I purchaced this mower for my 5 acres in Missouri. I have over 75 hrs on it and not even a bent blade. Wish I had this mower long ago, cut my time in half. I started out with another brand, It had springs on the wheels so i thought it would ride better, however, the cut was not even. When I complained they said it was because my rough yard was causing the unit to bounce up and down. 2 fixes and a bad cut later I returned it and just happened to find this at the Sears Home Town Store.
...

The thought that went into the design is superb. This mower is strictly heavy duty. If you can't mow your grass with this mower because it's too tough, your next choice will have to be a bush hog. It has a very solid feel while riding and cutting. The speed is wonderful without sacrificing cutting performance. It is very easy to maneuver in and around objects. The seat is comfortable, but lacks springs, with very nice supportive arm rests. The gas capacity is great. It holds more than half as much as my car. I now look forward to cutting my grass instead of dreading the task....

I bought this mower on Friday and immediately focused on the overbuilt deck. This is a GOOD thing for me as I am using it to mow our horse pastures as well as lawn-work. It is a fast mover and cuts well. The double gas tanks are a feature that puts my mind at ease when out in the field. 8 1/2 gallons goes a looong way! I noticed in other posts complaints about the rough ride. I did not find the ride on my Craftsman Pro... to be noticeably rougher than other zero turn mowers, including my Dad's Grasshopper. In the three days I have had it, I have put it to the test and I am pleased. If I had to find something that I would change about this product, I would have scrapped the turf tires and made better gripping tires an option. Turning on a decline can be a real pain. I have another 14 acres to introduce this beast to in the coming month so I will keep you informed. I hear that Grasshopper is the best mower you can buy, however I can't afford $10,000. This mower is a tough dude for half. Pleased......

When i was lookin at that i also noticed that the fans on top of the drive pulleys were broke off. I called sears service dept and talked to the rudest know it all lady you could ever meet. Two weeks later the sears guy can out and fixed the wire and ordered the fans for no cost under warranty. When i got the fans they were the wrong ones i sent them back and still havent got the right ones. It throwns the belt about every fifth or sixth time i engange the blades. Im pretty disapointed about having to work on it constantly. But when this mower isnt broke it cuts great tons of power moves really fast. The quality of cut is way better than my Husq. but ive never had to work on it.
...

I enjoyed reading all the reviews, as of this date, and will vouch for the fact that they are all correct. I am very happy with this mower. I have done professional mowing in the past, and have owned more mowers than I can recall. One thing I've learned is that there will never be one that is "perfect." Some of them get it right on some areas, and some of them get it right on others. This one is definitely not perfect; the seat is too rigid; and the clutch is too low; but when you take into consideration the price I paid, this is the best machine I've ever owned. I'm going to get to work on the seat springs right now!...

I purchased the Professional Grade Zero Turn mower. It is made by Bob Cat and this was a selling point for me. However, at 25 house the tension belt spring 'snapped', rendering the mower inoperable. After a long period of delay and rescheduled service I took the mower back to the retail store and they replaced it with a new one. From reading other reviews this seems to be a major mechanical problem.
Overall the mower is a well built machine. It reduced my cutting time for 2 to 4 acres by about one half. It is powerful, runs smoothly and does not bog down in heavy grass.
I, too, had a problem with the lack of seat suspension and it really jolted my back. Quick Fix: I obtained two coil sprinigs from an old craftsman mower and mounted them under the rear of the seat with two self - tapping screws. Rides much better. Better seat suspension should be standard. If not, provide an affordable option.
I have to frequently cut grass in the late evening and the machine does not have lights. Quick......

I wrote a recent review and noticed a person that had installed a set of springs under his seat.
I went to the local lawn mower shop today and The man I knew real well gave me two seat springs from a Grass hopper mower seat.
I came home and removed the pads from the rest plate and used the two springs that fit like they were made for the Professional.
In about an hour I had them installed and it was amazing how much easer the mower rode. I was amazed . Now you Engineers take a look and you will be amazed how it rides, I am so pleased that I just ride around and show it off
Thanks....

I own two Craftsman Garden tractors and bought a Craftsman professional this spring. I enjoy the o turn so much I do not use my garden tractors to mow.
The professional is so sturdy and well built that it is a pleasure to set in the seat and mow.
I have one thing that I would like to see changed. If you would design a spring type or a cushion seat to help
take the roughness from the ride of the mower, it would be perfect.
I let some of the air from the tires and it helped. It stills has something to be desired as to the smoothness of the ride. I mow 2 acres weekly....

mower cuts great. my only drawback is there is no optional seat with springs as this mower goes fast enough to jar your kidneys. for the money this is very good deal....

I purchased a 28875 zero turn mower on March 28 2008. On June 19 after approx. 15 hours of operations, the steering broke. The mower cannot be steered. Though under warranty and I have an extended maintenance agreement, it is taking two weeks to have a service man check the mower. Then, if parts are required, it will take one to two weeks to receive the parts depending on parts availablity. After receiving the parts, I will have to reschedule the service man - another one to two weeks. All this time for a new heavy duty commercial grade mower. I must either use my old mower, which for health reasons, I stopped using and purchased the mower in question or I must pay someone $100 a week to cut my two to three acres. Sears didn't care. In addition, there are no springs and my rough terrain causes the mower to bounce you something terrible....
