ConcernedforSafety says "Leak out its hydraulic oil after a few uses." about Craftsman Professional 6 ton Hydraulic Jack

When it initially worked, it performed well. However, after using it for less than 5 times, the "pumping" mechanism started leaking oil, and the automobile (a Toyota RAV4 -- relatively light vehicle) I had raised with it started lowing itself to the ground. (Thank goodness for the "minimum height limit" of the hydraulic jack, or else the auto would have been resting on the ground.) Oil ran out like a slow artery bleed. Would not jack up anything after that. Took it to a local Sears -- the warranty have expired and, due to safety concerns, they indicated that it is not to be repaired. I am now looking for a more stable/safer product.
...

Functions more smoothly than the one that came with my vehicle. I prefer the jacking mechanism to the crank style the stock one came with. I should have replaced the old one with this one years ago!
...

I purchased two of the Craftsman Professional 6 ton Hydraulic Jacks for use with a used 5th Wheel RV I recently bought. The first use was to remove the wheels in order to purchase new tires. I removed one wheel from each side of the RV, took them to the tire store to have the new tires mounted. Then brought them back and reinstalled the two wheels. Next I removed the final two wheels and carried them to the tire store for mounting, then reinstalled. This saved me from having to pull the RV to the tire store on questionable tires.

The Craftsman jacks were steady and strong and worked well for my chore. They are compact and easy to store in the RV.
...

I bought two of these jacks to level floors in our house and they have worked very well. I have used them several times and they have been very reliable. I did not give a 5-star review because under minimal load conditions, they can be hard to lower....

Purchased at store, but did not use it for 2 years. Made one lift. Stored it in the box it came in. Box became oily. Found all the oil leaked out between bottle and base. Through it away and purchased another brand.

I needed another small jack to do some floor leveling, since my other one got legs and walked away (not a Craftsman).I stopped at a local Sears store and pick one of these up. Worked great, I also liked the rubber handle holder. I used to be a Craftsman buyer for everything, I strayed away but I am back and I am happy again....

Very convenient.
Worked like a charm and cost the same as renting one for a day....

I am remodeling an old house and purchased this jack to do some floor leveling. I am very well pleased with the performance. No problems were noted. I was especially pleased with the value since I purchased this jack at a local Sears store for $19.99. I couldn't have completed the job without it. I also appreciate the two-piece jack handle and the holder that attaches to the jack. This helps to keep them from being misplaced which is a plus in a dark, cramped crawlspace. Overall an outstanding value on a well-made versatile tool....
