Bought this saw recently for some home improvement projects I have coming up. Used it to build a Deck around my pool last year. Worked great, made Cutting the 6x6 deck posts a lot easier than using a circular saw. Only problem I had, and it may just be my stupidity, was somehow I managed to move the...

Got this saw as a gift from my wife. Have serious concerns about its safety. Slide arm sticks badly after a few cuts. Sent it out for repair, got it back and after a few cuts it sticks again. Im afraid im going to cut off a body part pushing or trying to pull it back and having the saw stick and my hand...
In the first six months, this "professional" saw has convinced a life long (30 plus years as a hobby woodworker) Craftsman supporter to say enough is enough. My shop used to be 100% Craftsman. Craftsman is no longer a quality product. Saw does not shut off when trigger released (safety issue). Sears does not carry the batteries for the laser. The local store could not even tell me where I could buy them. Finally found a cross reference on the internet to buy some. Spring to return saw to upright is now "weak" and no longer works. I have to assist the saw back up after cutting. I am on the second...read full review »
I have owned this saw for a couple of years, I have had no issues with this saw, My nephew has trimmed out 2 houses that he refurbished with this saw and had no issues. If it breaks I will buy another.
My husband has a Handyman Business and we bought this saw for his use. It is bulky but the performance makes up for this. It is an extreme good and reliable tool. It keeps its miters great and is a true workhorse for someone that uses it quite often.
excellent product!!! best buy for the value, easy to use, reliable, accurate cuts at any angle even compound ones, we built a whole house using this for everything from 2+4s to trim!!!
I bought this saw in feb, within 2 weeks the trigger did not work. The next thing was when you try to set your angle the base part of my saw was hard to move like it was in a bind. After I exchanged the saw the next saw took 1 and a half months before parts started falling out of the saw. But to find out the parts that fell out was the cause of the stiffness when changing the angles on the base. After the slider guides fell out the saw slides easy. I lost my recept before I could exchange it before the 90 days were up. If not for that I would give it one more chance. J C C P LUBBOCK TX.
I recently received this saw as a gift to install crown moulding in my house and my inlaws house. I have to saw it comes ready to use right out of the box. The instructions on the capabilities of this item are great. The 12inch Blade and Dual Bevel capabilities of this saw make installing crown moulding easy even to a retired Army guy like me. I also used it to cut shelves and the sliding action of the saw give it the capability to cut larger stock of wood. I would recommend this product to the beginner or the professional. Plus its a Craftsman can you say anymore?
I HAVE OWNED THIS SAW FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS AND USE IT EVERY DAY . I BUILD CUSTOM LOG HOMES . THE ONLY GRIPE THAT MY CREW HAS ABOUT THIS SAW IS THAT IT IS LACKING POSI- STOPS ON MITER SETTING
I purchased the 12 miter saw because it had the features i was leooking for. The large base, high fence ,front controls, adjustable trigger, and the craftsman name. the only thing is i went out and bought a new blade.. but its been the best buy as far as the other saws out there you cant beat it.
I been wanting to get into woodworking for sometime now and put oak molding all thru my house with a 20 year old miter saw and thought it was time to get a better saw. I`ve only had this saw for about a year now and am in the process of putting trim in another house and I am very pleased with the performance of this saw right out of the box (no assembly), It will cut a 12" board with ease and the laser trac shows exactly where the cut line will be.
I would highly recommend this saw for the value and ease of operation.
I just bought the saw after having a Delta 10"compound non-slider for 3 years amd I am fairly impressed with the saw so far-just used it for 9 hours today. The only drawback is the dust collection- it is so poor that it is basically nonexisent. Otherwise a very nice tool with alot of nice features.
