My daughter bought her first house and I gave her my old mower, so I was in the market for a new one. Bought this mower on July 14, 2009. Easy setup and good price. Checked a lot of reviews on line for this and other mowers and this one looked to be the best value for the price. It has worked great...

My Craftsman mower "died" after 6 years and needed some additional maintenance so I decided to purchase a new mower. The description / specs listed on the Sears site is not very detailed, especially when it comes to the engine size. Some mowers are rated via torque others indicate "cc" for the engine... review »

i just got it today and it cuts so good. i love how it comes in the box fully asembled and how u only have to add the oil and gas to it. wich it comes with start up oil. it cuts so smooth. right to the t. and its easy to start, three primes, pull and off u go. i love how the grass bag is easy to put on. i only had to empty it 2x for a mid size yard. and it uses little gas. it uses less then 1/4 of gas in the mower from full for a mid size yard. this is one sears/craftsman product u have to buy!

I just bought this mower today. I unboxed it, which took a total of 2 minutes, poured the oil in that's supplied with it when you buy it and filled it with gas. On the second pull she fired right up. This mower is light weight and powerful. I don't have a huge lawn but I was finished in 20 minutes. So far I'm very Happy with his mower.

I never owned a mower before and I did a lot of research before buying this one. This is a great mower. Assembly took 2 minutes and after pouring in the oil and gas I pumped the primer 4x and it started on the first try. It took me 3 tries to get the right height but the adjusting was fairly easy. The mower restarted each time without a full pull. The mower tackled my mulching problem with ease and turning on the incline was not a problem. My only gripe is that the bag is on the small size and I have to empty it 4x to do my small yard.

Read the manual, adjusted cut from manufacture setting low to a medium cut, added prepackaged oil and then fuel, primed 6-10 times for first pull and Good to go and easy to push. Started immediately on any attempts after. Worked wonderfully - hoping this will continue.

I was in the market for a new mower and researched some online before deciding on this one. I have a small yard and thought this one would be perfect for it. I almost went with the model under this one but decided agaisnt it after the salesman told me this one has a better engine and more power to it. Plus it was only $20 more to get it. It took only a minute to assemble and came with oil in the box. All I needed was fresh gas to get it going. It has started perfectly the first few times I have used it and I have no regrets about my purchase. I decided to purchase the protection plan for only $39.99... review »

Very sharp looking and very hard working mower. Craftsman/Briggs & Stratton did a great job. Follow the instructions and you will have no problem. The bad does fill up quickly, but its because it grabs everything it cuts.

This mower, the Craftsman 625, has been a very bad purchase.

I have a double lot with mature trees in back and there are some roots and weeds that need to be mowed all with the grass, plus the lot is not totally level: there are a few dips and some holes dug by burrowing chipmunks.  I was able to mow those places just fine with my Snapper but this mower does not handle tight places well.  It simply cannot be maneuvered into them and worse still, it cuts out.  The mower cannot reliably mulch grass that is over a week's worth of growth either; it leaves hay anyway.  I have owned the machine...

Sometimes buying off brands is a good idea and it can save a lot of money through out the year, however I found that ithems such as the craftsmen lawn mower really reprezents that investing in something that is needed all of the time makes a world of difference.  I have owned the Craftsmen mower for 10 years now and I have not had to spend any money on even minor repairs.  I would recommend this product to any of my family members and trust that it will work for them as good as it has for me.  If you are looking for a lawn mower save your money and purchase a Craftsmen mower from Sears.

Hope...

Bought this a few weeks ago and use it in light commercial mowing.  I really like it.  I was concerned that it might be heavier to push with the larger engine (previously used 4.5 or 5.5 hp engine on a different brand).  It is easy to maneuver and light to push, has about 1-2" larger tires than the yardmans/weedeaters and although the bag is a little smaller than I like, it is easy to dump with a large opening.  Easy to convert to side discharge by just picking up mulch cover and inserting side discharge....takes 5 seconds.  Nice size gas tank.  Seems to cut very smoothly.  Fire engine...

I have a small-mid-size yard.  If the grass is of normal height, I can mow the whole yard done in 2 bags.  Engine is good size for the chassis and overall cut of the blade.  If the grass is overgrown and/or wet, I have to walk slower, or it'll stall.  I'm a fast walker.  But otherwise it gets it all.  No throttle, guess I don't really need it.  Handle is much longer than others, so it tri-folds, and takes up less floorspace.  Nothing special, it just cuts the grass.  I'm pleased.

I bought this mower a year ago. I was debating on this mower and the Toro mower from Home Depot. I am confident I made the right choice. This mower starts up on the first pull every time. I am a new female homeowner and didn't realize I needed to change the oil every season ;) Well, this is the begining of my third season, with no oil change, It started right up on the first pull. I did change the oil and sharpen the blade this season, thanks to YouTube illustrated instructions :)

I will definitely recommend this mower to everyone who cares to hear my opinion on it!!

I like this lawn more alot better then my old one of 4 years alot of things would happen to the old one didn't like it. Yeah this lawn more I bought from Sears is everything I hoped for starts right up on the first pull of the cord. Also I the fact it has a discharge for the grass to shoot out and bag. I paid $180.00 for it plus I also bought the 2 year plain so I can get it fixed for free if there is anything wrong with it.

After a bad experience with my expensive Toro, I wanted a basic and inexpensive mower that I could rely on. After 2 months this Craftsman is doing great - above expectations in terms of handling/mulching tall grass. The only complaint I have is that the plastic saftey deflector got cut up when i pulled the mower backward for 10 steps...seems like a design flaw for that to even be a possibility.
