So far great

Craftsman Reconditioned CompuCarve (CC R01) —

I bought a reconditioned Compucarve in mid December. I took the time to review all the documentation on the Carvewright web site and downloaded an updated manual as well as the software upgrade available. I first decided to try a simple sign just to see it work. I immediately got a message to do a scan and an error message when I could not do what it asked. I went on the net and shortly after a post on the Carvewright forum I had an answer that worked. From the message it appears to me that the prior owner had made a mistake on the manu and did not get it corrected. The machine has worked very well through several hours of carving of projects and signs. This system has a learning curve that is well worthwhile to go through. It helps to be computer and software literate, and those that have some graphics experience will appreciate the software. In short, if you are willing to invest the time and chase down issues on the internet, it is a great investment. If you want a "tool" that you can immediately use without study, don't get it. One last note - ony the shape of the cardboard box let me know it was reconditioned, the machine itself looked new.
