Well made and easy chopping

Bought this ax a while back.  Nice quality and built to last.  Works well for chopping jobs of most any size (jobs small enough to not need a chainsaw to take care of).  Low reverberation through the handle when chopping keeps your hands from absorbing shock every hack and wearing you out quicker.  Has stayed nice and sharp without need for constant re-sharpening like some.

Only downside I see is that the handle feels a bit light.  This makes for easier swinging but takes away from the overall feel and can sometimes make you feel as if your swings aren't doing as much as they could be.

I was pleased with the performance of this axe. I remember using an old wood handle axe many years ago especially that shock vibration each time the axe head hit the wood. With this axe the handle takes all the shock out of the hit. Appreciate the craftsman quality.

An Axe That Does The Job

I bought this axe to replace one that had seen its time come. The axe works as well as any other. The handle is molded plastic that works well enough but would be better if it was shaped a bit more like wooden axe handles.  There does seem to be less vibrations with the plastic handle. One thing that does stand out to me is that the Craftman logo is a sticker that peels off with wear. The handle looks very similar, if not the same molded in a different color, that you buy and *******. At least have "craftsman" molded in. How would I exchange it if it broke if you can't identify it as Craftsman?...

Awesome Light Weight Axe

This ase is pretty sweet. I love how light it is and easy to weild. I recently used it to remove several smaller stumps in my yard. It is sharp and cuts like a champ. I've used wooden handle axes before and this one absorbs so much of the impact vibration. When the zombie apocalypse occurs, this axe is going to keep me alive.

not bad for the price

Got it on sale and I needed to replace a broken wood handle axe. It works fine and I like the yellow handle so I don't loose it.

Great light weight axe!

This is a great Axe!  I was hesitant to get one with a plastic handle, but the weight was nice!  It swings well and handles nice.  my 9 year old was even able to carry it for me with no issue (under suppervision)!

got a lot of cutting to do before winter!

I bought the Craftsman single edge axe and really like it. The salesman made it clear to me that it woudl need sharpening. Once I got the proper edge on the axe it blows chunks out of the stump I am trying to remove in my front lawn. I am well pleased with the performance of the axe. Over all I rate it a solid 4.5 out of 5 stars.

I priced many axes ( I prefered a wood handle), but settled on the fiberglass handle, because of the life time warrenty. I found I actually like the shock resistant handle better.

Craftsman guaranteesits stuff because it lasts. I also have the 8 lb. sledge that I'm pretty tough on, and I have not broke that yet.

Crooked

I had to have an axe that day so I bought it. The edge on the blade was so cooked that it took me an hour to straighten it out once i got it home.

Forget the gaurentee

Great axe, but forget the lifetime gaurentee. No store stocks the axe, so if it goes bad, your stuck.

bought this to take down and break up large branches and a small tree after oct 29 snow storm in eastern mass.

Did the job exceptionally well, did not want the risks and cost of a chainsaw, lightweight and strong enough to work thru  thick branches in 2-3 swings, highly reccomend this

This is a good general purpose single edge axe with a good balance.  Other brands in the same price range tend to be top heavy.  You can also see a soft seal between the handle and head that helps absorb impact vibration.

Love this axe it is well balanced It has a well made solid handle with a head that is not only sharp right off the shelf but is epoxied on to never come off. Hands down the best axe made.
