Craftsman lawnmowers are the best. I had one that was a 42" for 16 years, and it still runs today!! I figured it was time to buy another, but wanted a wider cut. The 46" is the best. It looks great, it cuts great!!!! Everything about it is great!! I hope I get as many years out of it as I did the...

The safety on the seat is set that shuts off if you move at all, too sensative. Tires are too small slips easy on wet ground and get stuck often. Safety switch won't let you reverse or back up with out turning off the blades. The hood has no connection to the frame, just hooked in. If I had known all...

YT 3000 Tractor

I am disappointed in Sears more than the tractor. I waited to purchase the tractor until the labor day sale. Then 2 weeks later they dropped the price to the discounted price i paid. Not much of a sale was it?

So far the mower did pick up leaves fine. I put a plow on it, instructions where pretty good. But the tire chains come with no instructions. I am still trying to figure that out.

The product is good, the way sears run its sales , is pretty cheesy and the sales person i worked with at the initial sale was poor. I had to go back twice to get the correct attachments.

I got the Craftsman YT 3000 for my house up in NH.  It sits on just over 2 acres, and it's normally a pain in the butt to mow.  Things are definitely much better with this tractor though.  The 42" cut width means fewer passes back and forth, and it's got a really nice tight turning radius.  The engine's also got good power for the uphills.  The only thing I don't like is the jerk when you engage the gear initially.  It pulls really rough.  We'll see how it holds up over time.

I am enjoying the machine.

I have cut my mowing time down by more than 50%.

It starts immediately...the engine, that is.

It cuts well.

I do find that there is a vibration at the lower speeds, may be

the build up of grass.  Will clean out the blade area of any grass residue.

I found the delivery person very helpful.

There was a moth in the empty gas tank on delivery.

I spotted it. The delivery person was helpful in supplying duck tape which I put on

a stick and retrieved the dead moth.

After adding gas to  the tank the engine started and ran well.

I found that the hydrostatic drive was slow...

This lawn tractor is quiet and comfortable with lots of power. It is even a good looking lawn tractor, that you will be even proud to use. With its automatic transmittion it is easy to use and enjoyable to ride. And when it is enjoyable to ride, the job you are doing seems to get done without any extra work or effort. It is very versitile, you can purchase different attachments to help you get your job done even faster. With the big 46 inch deck you can knock your yard out in no time and cleaning up the deck is made easier with its washout port. Someone was thinking safety first when they...

I have owned this tractor for about three months. It has performed well and been trouble free. It cuts well, has good traction on slight hills and has plenty of power and speed. My only complaint is that the pedal for reverse is extremely difficult to press.

The tractor is economical on gas, and has used absolutely no oil in the three months I have owned it.

When I first got it , it had a bad engine pulley from the factory, called the service guy and he came out and found the problem and fixed it.( took about a week for the service call and about 15 minutes to fix it) other than that, this has been an awesome ride, I love the lever operated hydrostatic drive, never have to use the foot pedal except to crank it and to put it in park, plenty of power 21hp  and 46 inch cut a big improvement from the 42 inch cut I had previously had.

I BOUGHT THE 3000 46 INCH DECK TO REPLACE MY 2005 38 INCH DECK.  THE 1ST TIME I USED IT NOTICED THAT THE DECK WAS NOT SET RIGHT CAUSE ONE SIDE WAS CUTTING HIGHER THAN THE OTHER.  I HAD CUT SOME DEAD TREES DOWN AND I BUMPED THE DECK ON THE STUMP. WHEN I BACKED UP IT THREW THE BELT.  WHEN I LOOKED AT THE PULLEY AND THE DOME IT SITS ON IT WAS BENT   THE DOME LOOKED LIKE IT WAS PUSHED THROUGH THE TOP OF THE DECK AND THE PULLEY WAS ALL BENT UP.  I HAVE BEEN WITHOUT THIS MOWER FOR A MONTH AND I  HAVE 1 MORE WEEK FOR SEARS TO COME OUT TO THE HOUSE AN FIX IT.  IN THE MEANTIME I HAVE BEEN USING...

PROS - The hydrostatic transmission takes away the need to shift.  Just move the lever up or down in a straight line no clutch or shifting.  It cuts a nice wide 46 inch path at a very good rate of speed.  The cutting time was cut to a third of what it was with my self propelled walk behind. There are many attachments that are available for the tractor.

Cons - I have had the tractor for 2 months and the only neg. I can think of is it does not turn real tight for cutting around trees and shrubs.  It is a lawn tractor and if you need  a tight turning  radius then I would get a riding lawn...

Excellent riding mower from Craftsman.  Love the hydrostatic drive that lets me mow and not worry about letting the clutch out and having a smooth take off.  Easy to change the blades to mulching.  Except you can use the blades that come with it as mulching blades.  Fast and powerful.  Get a great looking lawn when finished.

46" YT3000 Garden Tractor

First garden tractor I have bought. I shopped around and found that this was the best buy for the money. It had the wheels on all four corners of the mowing deck which keeps it from scalping your yard which was important to me. I bought the hydrostatic drive so that it would be easy for my daughter to drive. As an engineer, I look at things from a different point of view and didn't see anything I would have made differently. Love to use it and enjoy mowing now.

I have a one acre lot that is mostly flat.  This is my first riding lawnmower.  I compared several name brands to this machine and felt that this was the best bargin to be found.  I have been very pleased with the performance.  The machine is powerful and never bogs down.  I have cleared out some natural area and have started to cut that area with no problems from the machine as long as the saplings have been removed.  I do agree that there are limitations on the deck height.  I cut the grass at a 5 and the natural area at a 4.  Any lower and it would be scalping the grass.  I recently...

The tractor is awesome!

I was a bit skeptical after reading the reviews.  It was a toss up between going with a Craftsman or a Deere.  Considering they both have the same engine manufacturer, I couldn't see paying for the Deere name.  Most of my tools are craftsman and thus I decided to stay true to the brand.  In addition, what I found to be the best is that I can go to my local Sears store for any parts or accesories whenever I need them in the future.  ***** and ********** don't carry much for the Deere brand.  Don't believe me?  Check it out for yourself.  The delivery was free, and they showed me how everything...

Bought a new 21HP 3000 Craftsman tractor/mower after having a 12.5 for 17 years. Deck vibration and major smoke from exhaust forced me to call the Sears repairman. Belt had already slipped after 2 mows and he said the vibration was common with this model, really... no one selling it to me said that. Well after one Summer of mowing I am still not impressed, it jerks hard when leting out the clutch in 3rd gear and above, gas fumes coming from the mower are permeating my basement and upstairs of the house, the wheels have little traction for my hill bound yard, and the deck vibration is still there....
