The Craftsman YT4000 exceeds my expectations

Craftsman YT4000 yard Tractor Model# 28925 —

I purchased the Craftsman YT4000 Yard Tractor with the snowblade (plow) attachment.  The tractor exceeds all my expectations.  Operation of the tractor is simple, has plenty of power and is easy to handle.  The fit and finish is flawless.   The delivery service was the best that I ever experienced.  They called to ask if I wanted delivery earlier than scheduled.  They showed up 1 hour early (called first).  After being told by sales associates that I would have to assemble the plow blade, I was surprised that the plow blade was not only assembled, but also installed on the tractor.

We have always enjoyed Sears products because of their quality and their excellent customer/delivery service.  I feel that the Craftsman YT4000 Yard Tractor was a correct choice.....Thanks Sears!

Thanks for your input. I have since decided on the Cub Cadet ZTT46. This is a discontinued model, Zero turn tractor. We started looking at zero turn mowers because of all the trees in the yard. It's got the 20 hp Kohler V-twin engine, and I think it's going to work out fine. We're picking it up tomorrow afternoon. This is a lawn tractor with zero turn and the ability to connect attachments like a plow blade for snow. The best of both worlds. I've read some reviews on it, and like everything under the sun, there are people who have some negative things to say about it. It's the same with everything. I'm sure I'll be very happy with my final choice. I'll be posting my results with it soon, after I've had a chance to use it enough to know.......Thanks again,,,,TTYL........

I have the YTS4000, 24 hp tractor. I was able to get the plow blade on sale for about $216.00. I recommmend getting the wheel weights and tire chains if you are going to plow snow during the winter. Since my driveway is made of concrete and steep, I plowed the snow downward to the street. Pushing snow "up" the drive would not have been possible for my situation (traction). Also, I did not let the snow accumulate to any great depth before clearing the driveway. I found that it is much easier to plow more than once during a snowfall rather than letting it pile up.
Everyone's situation is different...Hope this helps you. Good luck with your decision.

I am considering buying either the 21hp or the 24hp version of this tractor. After comparing models,, there really isn't a better one for the money. how much did you have to pay for the snow plow attachment? A friend of mine says that lawn tractors get stuck in wet grass sometimes, and says it wouldn't push all that snow on a snow covered driveway. How good is the tractor at plowing snow?
