We bought a propane powered weed eater from Sears Craftsman line.  This thing is amazing!  It uses a small propane camping sized tank, and has a shoulder strap just in case you cannot carry it for long periods of time.  it has a lot of power and the nice part is that I ahve used it multiple times...

So the first one I bought had an electrical issue and just quit on me one day.  I had bought the extended warranty so it was covered.  I got a second one and that one has held up great.  Was the first one just one bad apple amidst millions of great ones?  Who knows, but I've been using the second...

We received the convertible weed eater as a gift this past summer and have loved it so far. My husband and I currently own the weed eater and hedge trimmer attachments. This saved a lot of time when working in the yard. It was a lot easier to simply switch the attachment and continue working rather than having to go all the way back to our shed and change tools. We both love the fact that it has a 4-cycle engine so we only need one gas can now.

I am planning on purchasing the edger attachment this spring to help along the curb and driveway. In the past, my husband has always purchased Skil products....

I looked at string trimmers for a week or two before making a decision.  I can't tell you how many trips I mad to my local Sears, Lowe's, Home Depot, etc...  I'm a fan of Craftsman, but wanted to give all makes and models consideration.  I decided to go w/ Sears, due to the availability and price of attachments.  The salesman (Seth ~ Sears - Manchester, NH) was very knowledgable about the products, and didn't push any particular model on me.  He showed me which machinces would take attachements, so it was narrowed down to four weed whackers.  Two 2 - cycles and two 4 - cycles.

I am only...

We got the cordless, rechargeable, 20 amp Craftsman weed eater and I am greatly impressed. The cord feeds easily to keep eating and eating, the battery lasts for as long as I need to use the machine. The ease with which it flips over to edge the lawn is impressive, as is the quietness. I never feel I will be bothering the neighbors (except to have a much better looking yard than they muster!).

Great machine and a good price.

My dad is really hard to buy for - he's a simple guy with simple taste. He likes to do the typical "dad" things like golf and work in the yard, but he's the kind of guy that actually wears the free windbreakers they give him at golf tournaments, instead of going out and buying the wind repel-water repel-sweat wicking-lowers-your-score-by-at-least-5-strokes kind of jacket. So buying him gifts is hard.

That is, until I got him started on the Craftsman Line Trimmer series with detachable heads. I started out easy with just the gas powered line trimmer for Father's Day 2005, and at first, it didn't...

I really appreciate the Craftsman "convertible" series of Weed Eaters.

What a great concept: One engine for many applications.

My Craftsman Weed Eater, is also a Brush Wacker, a Pole Chainsaw, a blower and could be: a pole Hedge Trimmer, Rotary Trimming tool, edge, and Mini-Cultivator.

All this with just ONE Maintenance Protection Agreement, on the engine part of the machine.

What a fantastic value!

Look for the little red know, toward the center of the Eater's shaft.

This guy helps my wife and I maintain a 1-1/2 acre property.

Just three more months before fire season is upon us, again.

Craftsman weed eater~under $150.00

This weedeater is a great item, and it works well!

We bought the plan to go with it, so all tune ups are free for only another $20!

It is a great buy, and the motor never feels that it is going to die on you!

WORTH THE MONEY!

Lousy product

Had to return the weed eater after having it for 3 years witha complete tune up at year 2. When i tried to start it at year 3 it would not start.

Since Sears has taken over the Craftsman product line the quality has gone down down down.

The local store only tode me to take it to the repair department and pay to get it fixed.

Wonder custome care and concern.

I had a Craftman's Weedeater that I used for over 10years, before I had to replace it with the same size and brand.  I have a lot of weedeating to do about 3-4hrs after each mowing.I am an older woman and find this item to work well and not be to heavy for me.  Great product. It was the 250-17cc

Recently purchased a "convertable" Craftsman weedeater, which has interchangable parts.  I have gas leafblower, edger, weedeater and cuttingblades, all in one.  Absolutely love the convenience.  The only thing is the leaf blower doesn't have as much power as the regular ones but the convenience of having to buy only one power source is worth the loss of power for me.
