Joie says "Buy your blender separate from the processor..." about Cuisinart 7-Speed 40 oz. Blender/Food Processor

I purchased this product and was very disappointed. I knew that cuisinart made good products so if you are looking for quality product this is not it.
I used the processor to make a vegan recipe that includes walnuts, pecans, baby carrots, onion, peppers, and seasoning. I literally had to wait 40 minutes until mixture was at least 80%. Maybe it's because of the small capacity the cup holds but at some point the machine had a burning smell. It was poor workmanship on the processor side and it probably only can handle chopping onions and peppers. Basically anything that is waterbased. What's the point. I never used the blender part of this combo but it probably works ok. It might have some problem crushing ice since the base for the processor is also used for the blender.
I returned this product and purchased a cuinsinart of 7 cup capacity instead. My sisters recommended that brand and it seems to work ok and it takes only a few mins (like 1-3) to chop anything down.
If you want to save I......

I love this blender and food processor. The single base for both attachments is great when you live in small spaces. I have always been happy with both the blender and the food processor. The blender works tons better than the previous blenders I have had. I bought this appliance about 7 or 8 years ago, and it still works like new. I find it to be a bit loud, but it works really well. It is great when you are cooking for 2. I don't know whether or not the size would be an issue for those cooking for large families....

My boyfriend received this as a Christmas gift and we have used it almost every day since. It is quite loud but gets the job done. In the long run, he would like a much nicer food processory but this definitely does a well enough job. Not bad for the price....

If you absolutly do not have the room for both a blender and a processor his is for you, but it is terrribly loud! It's a screetching sound that is hard to live with. The blender does alright for easy jobs, but don't try to make a smoothie or crush ice, it just doesn't handle it. The food processor is great for baby food, but that is it. Everythign else gets partialy processed, and the grateing feature is worthless. Spend a little more money and get 2 machine....
