We bought this back in DEC because we have a new son and needed to puree baby food. We washed the "dishwasher safe" parts and the food processor warped...... had to order a new after the local store showed they had a new one, got there and they did not have one, had to order online and pay shipping!!!! got this one and 4 months later it's broke. I would not recommend buying this product, not sure why we had issues but all we were doing is using it about every other day to make baby food.
...

This blender was an unexpected Christmas gift and I am glad I got it, even though it's mostly my daughter who uses it. But i like her to eat healthy, and this really helps - she makes fruit smoothies almost every night now, and she must be getting at least 2 servings of fruit with each one! Plus, she enjoys making them by herself and with her friends. It doesn't take up much counter space and converts to a (smallish) food processor pretty quickly. A few years ago I had purchase a blender specifically for smoothies and it never chopped ice very well - this one chops ice quickly and I don't feel worried about breaking it because it seems so sturdy (but I have only had it for 4 months.)
...

dkstol says "We used it only a few times... and now it's broke!" about Cuisinart PowerBlend Duet Blender/Food Processor

My wife and I received this as a wedding gift a year and a half ago, and we have hardly used it... one night we were making smoothies, and it suddenly stopped working. The lights and everything turn on, but the motor won't activate. Since we got it over a year ago, the warranty has long expired. It looks great and very robust, but looks are deceiving!

In an attempt to fix it, I took apart the device and determined the controller for the motor was fried. I can replace the element on the board that was blown (but that still doesn't guarantee that it will work for sure, but I probably will end up doing just that) but why should I have to? I don't like spending >$50 for something that will just need to be replaced in a year; good thing I didn't have to pay for this one; I recommend that you don't waste your money.

And, to be honest, with the failure occurring due to an electrical malfunction, the blame is probably better directed at the electrical part manufacturer/supplier,...

...
