We have only had the chipper for four days and used it one time. It worked GREAT!
Really great value for a chipper. Chipper bag could use some improvement, but overall an extremely high quality product.
Excellent shredder, truth in advertising. It is all I need it to be.
I bought this wood chipper because of the reviews I have read. I have to say I'm impressed by the power of this machine. Five inch pieces of wood were no problem for this chipper. The other wood chipper sold by Sears is a toy compared to this one.
The only thing I didn't like was the bag that attaches to output side of the chipper, both of the grommet's on the bag broke the first time I used it. I guess the amount of wood I slammed in to it was too heavy.
I purchased this unit based on the horse power and it exceeded all my expectations. Very quick delivery. It is a good, solid chipper.

We love our chipper shredder but at first had a bit of a problem with it clogging.
The guard that protects the .blades was causing this clog, so after my husband removed it, it works great.
"This chipper is the best deal around. I even called the manufacturer to understand the product before I purchased this unit and they were very helpful. If you use it a lot, they recommend you buy extra blades and belts. It comes with an extra blade and belt but since I use this every weekend, I went ahead and purchased extras anyways. If you use it according to the manufacturer's guidelines, you should have no problems. I have been using this for 2 months and it has been great."
I bought one of these units March of 2010, never got around using it until March of 2011. I couldn't even start it; the engine would not turn. So I took it to authorized repair center; they said that there was a cup and half of water in the cylinder just from sitting outside (I wonder where they expected it to be used). ANyhow they got it going for a few hours and then engine seized up. DEK did not cover it under warranty because it was outdoors. So the unit had to be scrapped without even a second of usage. and I am out 1200 dollars!
I just bought the Sears DEK 15 Shredder/Chipper and it has turned out to be better than I expected. The shipping was professional however when I initially rec'd the unit one tire seemed low. I did the basic assembly(with tools provided) and gased & oiled it and got it started right away. After I moved it to a location to begin work the tire went completly flat and I was unable to move it by hand as a result. I called the support number and they sent me a complete new tire under warrenty. These are the tubless type tires and I was unable to fill it with air using my compressor. Once I recieved the...
