I signed on with DIRECT TV - can get some excellent specials, esp. during superbowl too. that's how I got over 500 channels for 1st few months at their rock bottom price. I live on a dissability income and can still keep it going. So many more channels on just 1 upgrade from their lowest. Even get another 10.oo off per month because every time I recommend someone and they place their order and call another #w/my "code" - then we EACH get 10. discount for 5 months, etc..
They consistantly advertise on their web site, different pkg options and all are a real advantage for the money.
There is no charge for installation, receiver box, remote, nothing.
The remote is even kinda fun. Can access the weather like on a computer, in many other states, there is a daily horoscope there too if you like that sort of stuff.
Can program fave channels and the program guide will tell you not only what the movie, (example) is about but when & what channel it will show again. I like to "autotune" for particular shows and then program my DVR (which is free w/some pkgs) to record over 5 days of whatever will fit for the week.
Don't care too much for the local competition because they (the consumer) not only pay for 2 dishes (if they want local stations + 5.00 for each local station. but installation and all the above is charged to the customer as well. And much more expensive than mine to get LESS channels.
