Portable and good for my needs

DeWalt 10 In. Jobsite Table Saw —

The Bosch 4000 is an excellent unit but for my needs the DW 744 works just fine. I use a midsized pickup to haul my tools and my job sites can be many and varied over a short period. The DW 744 breaks down quickly, the stand, although awkward, can slip into my truck almost anywhere. The performance of the saw is excellent (with a real blade installed) Yes, the "hard startup" is old school and the cord does hang out of the bottom, but the rack and pinion fence setup is hard to beat. I too sufferd the rack and pinion out-of-mesh-syndrome, it's a simple fix, if one takes the time to read the manual (page 6). Overall, if the Bosch unit rates a 5 then the DeWalt is a close 4-1/2. I've only had the saw for three years and expect to easily last several more. Maintain the unit and periodically tweak the settings and you'll be rewarded with continued accuracy and performance.
