DeWalt Heavy-Duty 13 In. Thickness Planer —
I've had mine for several months now and have been pleased with overall performance. I had bad snipe until adding infeed/outfeed tables, now not a problem at all. The depth guage is very accurate, chip ejection fan works very well with a hose and a big trash can - no dust collection system needed. The finish on hard wood is very good at the slower speed (which is still a decent feed rate) and blades are easy to access. My one complaint; blades are only available in high speed steel - no carbide. Also, when I took my first pair to have them sharpened, I was told they couldn't since they are 2-sided and to just throw them away. HSS Blades are available many places from $45 to $75. DeWalt shows a list price of $28.16 plus $9.50 shipping. Either way, that's a little pricey for throw away steel blades. I would prefer to pay a little more and have a one-sided carbide tipped replacement blade option.
