I use the heaters in 2 separate rooms, great to help big system in very cold weather. Warms nicely and keeps room comfortable. Feel safe to leave it on low when not in room. Checking my utility bills this month to check and see if and how much saved.

Not a good value

I had purchased one of these 12 years ago when I lived in a city and it had good heat output and was a handy and efficient space heater. Fast forward to Dec. 2010 and a new model that may look like the old one (but with cheaper wheels) but has very little heat output. It may be fine for a small powder... read full review »

Delonghi Advanced Oil-Filled Radiator Heater Reviews

I believe that I purchased this particular space heater in February 2010.  According to instructions, when not in use I turned it to *, to keep the oil warn and lucid.  I turned it on at comfortable setting every day (#3).

About 3 months later, I noticed that the plug was partially out of the socket.  I went to replug it and the plug was extremely hot and there was a burn mark on the plug plate.  I am so glad that this happened in time for me to notice.  Otherwise, there could have a fire.

Sadly, I threw out my receipt by mistake, also the time limit for returns expired.  I would not...

The DeLonghi Oil-filled heater is a wonderful safe heater to use in any room of the house. The heater is easy to move around, the wheels make it so. It is not a fire hazard because of the 7 oil-filled radiators unless you plug the heater into an extension cord, do not do that.

The greatest assest of this type of heater is it ability to be safe if used properly and it gives off good heat. The thermostat maintains the desired and set temperature of the room. This attribute is  wonderful is operates just like a heatpump thermostat.

Once set-up and turned on, depending on the size of the room this...

I have two of these heaters and they work well.  They do take awhile to heat up. Once they warm up, they work really well.  One time I pulled the fuse to my furnance (long, not so smart story).  We had one of these heaters on upstairs.  I did not realize the furnance was off (it had been off all night) until I went downstairs.  This was on an average Ceveland, OH winter day.

Running two at one time ran up our electric bill, so we would only run one at a time.  We had one ustaris and downstairs.  Also before you run it after sitting out, keep it free of dust.  If it is dusty it can smell...

Great heater, good price

I have had this heater for a couple of months now, and I am very happy with it. As with all radiant heaters, it takes a little time to heat up an average sized room -- about 30 to 45 minutes -- but after that, the room is evenly and well heated. I like these better than the coil/fan heaters, since those units seem to only blow warm air around the room rather than keep a consistent heat. The DeLonghi heater is not too hot to touch, has a very small footprint, and has an easy to use thermostat. This brand has been around for a very long time, so I have no concerns about the quality.

These heaters really work! I have 5 of them. Before you try to heat your house for the winter, SEAL it up!  Eliminate as many drafts as possible!  I have a 2 bedroom house with a full basement and a full attic, built in the 1960's in Ohio just north of Cincinnati.  I have 15 windows and all of them are covered with plastic window kits except the kitchen and bathroom (in case I need fresh air!) I have weatherstripped the front and back door with that foam tape and I have thermal lined curtains. When its sunny outside I open the curtains to get all the free heat (the greenhouse effect). 4 of...

GREAT PRODUCT

I've had mine for years and absolutely love it! Propane has become too expensive here so I turned that down and have supplemented with this heater and it's so comfortable and I dearly love it! I've had it for years and used it in the bathroom of my old house, which was a drafty one, and the bathroom was always cozy and perfect!

Very pleased.

I bought this heater approximately 5 or 6 years ago and it still works great! It keeps my office nice and toasty while the rest of the house is set to 63 degrees. I'm going to buy another one for the kitchen since there is no radiator in that room. It's perfect for old houses and looks nice too. I would highly recommend this heater!

Not For Everyone

My father purchased one of these in 1996, and it still works great. I picked this one up a month ago when my gas furnace broke. Who knows what that will cost to fix - since this is working so well I might not fix it anytime soon. Gas IS more efficient, but this is doing a fine job. I have a 1600 sq ft home (2 floors) with 9 ft ceilings downstairs and 8 ft ceilings upstairs. I have used this almost constantly for just over a month with excellent success, paired with the unit from 1996. My electric bill went from $40/month to $110/month, which is similar to the cost of my gas bill this time of year.... read full review »

5 stars

Have used oil filled radiators in UK and USA, very ecomonical way of heating. IMPORTANT - these radiators are designed to be left on permanently. The oil heats up, heater automatically switches off (and stops drawing electricity) when thermometer reads the room temperature same as that set using controls, oil is hot and continues to heat room. Heater switches on and starts drawing power when room temperature drops below that set (and the oil has started to cool down). This heater is cheap and thermometer does not have a temperature scale. To heat 20ft square basement  room, I selected the lowest...

Second one

I own the previous model of this same heater, and I love it. I've never had a problem with it, and we're using it to keep the baby's room toasty. It definitely will do nothing to keep a drafty room warm, because it relies on convection. In our case, however, it's the perfect solution. Now I own a second one.

not worth the money

We bought this unit to help heat our living room on cold days, we had it home one day and had it on max for 5 hours and the unit was barely luke warm. How this could heat any room is beyond me!

This heater is fantastic

I purchased one of these heater about 3 years ago. I absolutely love the heat it gives off. I use it in my home office instead of heating my whole house during the day. I would recomend this to anyone.
