“screw the laces, i love the zipper!!”

“Do you need airport safe boots???”

“****! They cracked!”

After wearing them for about a month the leather or whatever there made out of started cracking. I'm going to buy Bates and spend the extra money.

“die hard lace boots”

bought for a motorcycle trip out west  [from ny] looked at the bates boots these are pretty close, and for the price you cant beat them. very comfortable the first day. i got them on sale for half price!! [good price even at reg.price.] have had them for two weeks wearing them everyday so far so good. will see how they make out on a 5,000 mi. trip!!!  only draw back is they advertise as waterproof which i think they are waterproof, up about half way. the top 5 or so inches of the touge is not  sealed to the boot like the bottom half.so i'd say there half waterproof. i have had them on in rain...

“Best boots ever bought”

I have purchased this style of boot for many years now and it is the best boot out there for the money. They are very easy to take off, and hold up nicly. I work with concrete, water, mud, basicly everything yucky and these keep my feet dry for hours. However the bad part is the leather rips away from the soles on the inside of the shoe after prolonged exposure to water, causing breaks in the soles.

“Great Boots!!!”

I purchased these boots for my husband to use for work. He's a truck driver and has to get in and out of his truck many times per day. Many times he's in rain, snow, mud, etc. at the delivery sites. These boots have held up well and are keeping his feet dry and comfortable.

“GREAT BOOTS”

I work in a Correctional Facility and walk on concrete and metal stairs all day long and these boots have lasted for over a year and still holding up. I have owned Bates Boots and diffent brands of tactical boots and these have lasted longer than the major brands. I am buying my 3rd pair of Die Hard boots for use in the EMS line of work. Worth the money

“Great Boot”

These boots are great! On feet at work all day and still not aching feet. They holdup well in snow, rain, etc...although they are not water proof. Love the convenience of the zipper! Having been wearing these shoes for YEARS! I buy at least 2 pairs when they go on sale, so I always have backups...these are the only shoes that I wear so I like to have a clean pair to wear when I am going out. Would highly recommend!

“Construction Truck driver”

Bought 2 pairs , first pair zipper failed after 2months but returned to sears "die hard warranty" and got them replaced. Short break in period , and breaths well love these .

“Bad zipper”

The boot itself is well put together. Just needs better zippers. Only had the boots about four months and had the zipper on my right boot disintegrate. The boots were purchased as an inexpensive solution to everyday motorcycle boots. I wore them while commuting 5 days a week. They never were abused, yet still failed after less than 5 months.

“awesome boot!”

Got these boots on sale for real cheap just so I could take the MSF (motorcycle) course. Turns out I loved em so much I still wear them everyday... riding, shooting, paintball, everything! Been 7 months so far and still going strong with regular care (mink oil and shoe polish). Extremely comfortable after a short break-in period. Side-zipper makes these boots very convenient for on-off. Soles are slip resistant. But they are definitely not waterproof, as riding in Seattle weather has taught me. I'm thinking about stocking up on these in case Sears stops carrying them!

“8 inch black boot”

This is my second pair of these boots, I have also had a pair of the Bates same type & size. Before both of these boots lasted about the same, and failed about the same; I tend to wear out the heels first.

This time, the sole on one boot totally separated from the heel area of the leather upper. The bond between the leather and the rubber all the way around was weak. Can't say I would bother buying another pair of these; the quality was there once but you can't skimp on the glue when putting these together! I don't think these ar six months old yet, what is the warranty operiod on these shoes?...

“Seems they are using a cheaper boot now.”

I have been wearing these boots for the last 5 years, buying a new pair every year. I wear them on a daily basis and have really enjoyed them. That was until the last pair I bought, which while the fit seemed the same, the quality has definitely gone down hill. The last pair I bought about 6 months ago has proceeded to start separating where the leather attaches to the sole, and the leather has started cracking and peeling, most noticeably around the heal, which was never an issue with my older pairs.
