DieHard Portable Power 1150 Jump-Starter/AC-DC Power Source
This is a very handy tool in so many ways. It has an inverter built-in and a nice assortment of outlets (2 AC, 2 12V and 1USB!) It also has a pump that is adequate for a portable, a work light ( for those dark night rescue missions) and a digital display that tells you the charge level.
This is the second one for me because the first one wouldn't hold a charge after the first few times, but Sears promptly replaced it for free and have no problems since. (Probably just...
read full review »I am very happy with this jump-starter, and I have not even used all of the features, yet (e.g. lost power at home and portable A/C power).
Before buying it, I was concerned by many of the reviews that said that it would not jump-start bigger engines. I have a very big passenger engine (5.3 liter V-8), and both times that my car battery could not start the engine this jumper could. In both cases the battery was not completely drained, and that may be the difference, but I do not think that any _portable_ jumper would start a car if the battery is completely drained.
One big thing to look out...
read full review »I purchased my first 1150 in DEC2009. It has a lot of features I was looking for - very versatile. It worked great at first, with much use of air compresor, 110 AC for lights / small drill and a couple times for jumping a low battery.
HOWEVER, after about 4 months, the air compresor quit working - would pump but no pressure. Since this had a 1 yr warranty, returned to store and was replaced. All worked well for about a year, and now the air compresor is no longer working and is out of warranty.
I do use it a lot, all except air compresor as other functions work fine.
I will probably buy...

Used properly, this 'jumper' will perform when needed. To eliminate the draw of a discharged battery, connect the positive (red) cable to the positive (red) post of the auto...... connect the negative (black) cable to a solid ground in the engine compartment, not the negative (black) post of the battery.
If you connect the jumper directly to the posts of a discharged battery, the discharged battery will try to siphon 'juice' from the jumper, preventing the starter motor from getting the 'juice' it needs to spin the...
read full review »Well here we go again. DIEHARD jump starter. I should of listened to the reviews. I knew it would die in two yrs like everyone said, but I thought it would at least start something? WRONG! Wont run a small sump pump like it states on the box. Wont even try. ERROR code, like people here are getting if they try to jump a car with a completely dead battery. ITS JUNK! I returned it fast. Before they said I had it too long or something.
I purchased this to use for a valet service at a luxury retiremtn community of over 180 seniors with over 100 cars. At least five time a week we bring this out to start a car that hasn't been started in a while. This works great. Its been accidentally dropped, tripped over, and rained on; of course it still works. I used this to charge my 18v Lithium tools on an off-site job. All day long, for two days! DiHard = Built Tough!
I have had this for about eight months. I have used it to jump start my minivan and my boat (big V-8). I have used it as a jump starter several times without charging in between and it had plenty of power. The air compressor has also come in handy. I like having the 120V and USB ports, though I have not had a chance to use those other than to confirm they work. I take this with me on road trips and when I go camping. It is heavy but that's is expected with the extra capacity this has. It is slow to recharge, but it can be left on the charger when not in use.
