“I always buy Dirt Devil.”

I have always used Dirt Devil Vacumns for over 20 years and I'm very happy with this hand vac. They're always very powerful and inexpensive compared to some vacumns and they last a long time. They're also cute and my little girl even had a toy one that worked pretty well. I love the hose attachment that gets into corners and the little brush you can put on it to even dust off furniture! Very good deal for the money.

“Awesome lil Vacuum!”

Amazing little vacuum. It is great for cleaning stairs and the car. The long cord makes it easy to move around and use almost anywhere. the vacuum does clog up fast but thats because its doing a good job. The unit gets hot while you use it extensively so i would say you can only use it in 15-20 minute spurts tops. The only really bad thing was the hose attachment. This hose attachment latches to the mouth of the vacuum cleaner. The vacuum is made solid, unfortunately the hose attachment is not. The tabs that hold it to the mouth of the vacuum broke with the second use of the hose attachment....

“Great machine for the price”

would recommend this vac. It works well overall. I'm not 100% sold on the attachments - it doesn't stay on as well as I would like, but it does work.

“Fantastic workhorse”

Heavy? Yes. Noisy? Yes. But it does the job like no other vacuum I have ever used. If you have pets, you NEED this workhorse. You won't believe the hair your other vacuums are leaving behind. For those who complain that the filter needs frequent cleaning: THAT'S BECAUSE IT'S DOING IT'S JOB. If cleaning filters is too much of an effort, get one of those wimpy, cordless, non-brush roll vacuums that leave the hair and dirt on the carpet. With the 30 ft. cord, this is the best vacuum ever made for stairs. With the strong suction and powerful brush roll, it gets out dirt you didn't know was there.... read full review »

“Excellent handheld - but buy extra filters upfront”

A strong as an ox vacuum that will pull dirt out of carpets! A bit heavy for some people perhaps, but for spot cleaning in the house, or doing a car - you cannot beat this tank of a vacuum. Forget any experience you've ever had with a battery handheld - this unit, with it's exceptionally LONG card, is comfortable to use. And with the roller - does it ever work!! Because it picks up stuff buried in carpets for years, the paper filter needs cleaning frequently- like after every use, so buy a couple extra right away so you can swap them while working. “Same great quality!”

We owned the original Dirt Devil handheld vac, and it worked great for 15+ years. Sadly, after years of great service, the motor gave out. We were skeptical about buying a new one, figuring it could never do the job the original did. Boy, were we wrong! This new version of the classic has the same great power and suction the old one had! It's also a lot more light weight and much easier to empty! I'd reccomend the new Dirt Devil classic to anyone looking for a great hand vac!

“Disagree Totally”

I will have to disagree with previous review. This thing is AWESOME. We have 2 bigs dogs and carpet stairs. You do the math. They shed like crazy and I was tired of lugging Kirby around to do stairs. We got this as a gift and I was scared since I did not get a chance to compare and see what I thought would be better. This thing put new life back into the carpet on our stairs. I was like holy cow what a difference that made. The only knock I have is two fold. The first belt broke after like the 2nd or 3rd use. The other is the air filter. “works great”

unit works great but filter needs to be change often. Sears does not stock replacement filter at store or online. Yet they carry replacements for units that they don't carry. filters do have to be replaced on regular basis, why not stock them?

“Classic vac”

Got this unit to clean out our vehicles and use on carpeted house steps, works great, plenty of suction and the roll brush is a real plus. Only con I can see is the paper filter attachment needs cleaned every use. Other than that I would buy this unit again over the other dirt devil hand vacs.

“BEWARE - DON'T BUY - CHEAP”

Bought this hand vac and it fell apart in one month. No suction whatsoever. Filter keeps falling out. Beware --- Don't Buy!!!
