How long does it hang on 37? Sometimes the timers will hang as the appliance recalculates the estimated (estimated being a key word) time remaining. This can last as long as 5 minutes depending on the particular model. If your dishwasher uses a sensor during the wash cycle, this is almost certainly what's happening, if it's hanging for a few minutes.

I have a washing machine with an estimated time remaining display, and it will have the same amount of time showing for a while when it's running.

I notice is was a while, more that 5 min. but this happens now all the time when running regular cycle that it stalls at 37 min.

If it stalls and quits running, then there is a problem. Bluecrew guy could be right, if it keeps running. If you actually have to hit cancel/drain you may have a problem with the cellanoid valve (I almost certainly mispelled that) or it really could be anything. Call a service guy from sears.... In the Chicago at least, if they come out and it can't be fixed or is to expensive, they give you a coupon for 65 or a hundred if you spend than 700 a new one (helps negate that charge to get it looked at). Hopefully you are under warranty though, or covered a protection agreement so you don't have to worry about it.

Some models have two microswitches in the latch, if the switch on the right makes contact the unit will run, the switch on the left closes the neutral to the heat element, if it doesn't close the heater wont heat the water and satisfy the tempature sensor. The strike is a thin metal bracket the sticks out at the middle/top of the frame and catches the latch. this can be bent slightly down and to the left to contact that switch. that might solve your problem.
