Lockedkenmore dishwasher model 665

My dishwasher is stuck on quick rinse cycle, keeps flashing. Will not cancel or change to any other cycle. What should I do. Can I troubleshoot it? Unplug it and it will go back to normal?

665 just says which manufacturer made the dishwasher (in this case, Whirlpool). The entire number is the model number, and that's what you should provide when referring to a specific model. This convention holds true for all Kenmore brand appliances.

Perhaps one of the technicians on this site will be able to explain what is going on with your dishwasher.

Do you mean the light above the quick rinse cycle is flashing? That indicates a stuck keypad button.

Sometimes, and I mean sometimes, you can go to your fuse box and pull the one that sends power to your dishwasher, wait a couple minutes then replace it. There are microprocessors back there that are similiar to a computer, and doing so can work like a reboot if one gets frozen. If that does not work it is unfortunately likely that you are looking at having to replace the control panel. If your warranty is up, and you are not covered by a protection agreement it may be more economical to purchase a new one. That just depends on exactly what model though, those boards run between 300 and 500 generally to replace.
