Dremel Engraver —
As a long time Dremel user and self-proclaimed expert on the entire line of Dremel Branded Products this engraver doesn't have any advantages over the "old style" excepting the attempt to be more ergonomic as regards the design. The attachments readily available for the major models ( 395,295, etc.) don't fit which eliminates the possibility of using the myriad you may have on hand. It has limited bits that aren't backwards compatible either. The few attachments it does accept require even more cash outlay and still, no real advantage is realized. While perhaps more attractive from a design point-of-view, function is the reason to purchase any Dremel products and this one simply hasn't the functionality to rationalize adding one to your collection. Then there's the buzz noise factor..all in all not worth the investment- find one at a garage sale or harbor freight .
