If you are looking for a feeder to deter squirrels and larger birds, this is the one you need for feeding smaller birds, such as finches or chickadees. It is the only feeder I have that has proven 100% squirrel-proof, as well as Blue Jays, Grackles, Doves, etc are unable to access the feed. The one problem I have with it is that Cardinals are not able to fit through the outer cage, which is why I gave it 4 stars, instead of 5. Overall highly recommended
