Hello I just bought this vacuum and LOVE it. I brought it home and put it together and vacuumed the first night of having it at home. After reading how everyone else vacuumed with their old vacuum and then with the Dyson and it picked up more, I guess my old vacuum did a good job as not much really was pulled up from the carpets and I have 1 big dog, 1 cat and a grandson that lives with us and my daughter comes over almost everyday. So I was surprised not a whole lot really came up the first time but as I keep vacuuming I still get quite a bit. The one thing I can say is I actually see the lines the vacuum is leaving behind as it works. I never saw this with my other vacuums. So there you see it is pulling up stuff from down in the carpt. I love how the attachments are so easy to use and pull out from the handle. AWESOME!! I also love how easy it is to pull something out if it shouldn't have been vacuumed ie a screw or something. I agree with others, the on and off switch could be closer to the top of the vacuum but oh well in time I will get use to where the switch is. I also love how you empty it, the bottom just pops off LOVE it. Anyways this is a great product and I love it, I hope it lasts me many years to come. Also when I go to the bare floor with this machine, it picks everything up doesn't spit it out the back like my other vacuum did. So that is a big plus right there too. I would recommend this to anyone who can afford it.Dyson DC14 Complete, Purple
