Dyson DC18 All Floors —
I purchased my first Dyson this past Saturday. Originally, I planned on purchasing the Dyson All Floor Model currently on sale at $379 (regular price $399).
I informed the sales woman that I live in a studio. She asked if I had heard about the new Dyson Slim. I replied that I had and said I also knew the price is significantly higher than the model I was considering at $469.
I then asked the clerk if I could try the Slim. What impressed me the most is the maneuverability. The head of the vacuum bends (not quite turns). Second, is the look. It is small and less bulky compared to its counterpart(s). Third is the color. The orange is quite pleasing. Still, I consider spending $469 for a vacuum excessive.
Assembly is easy and no tools are required. The hardest part was opening the box. My reason for rating my Dyson a 4 for durability is due to the fact that I've owned and operated mine for 4 days, not long enough to give an accurate rating.
I vacuum daily. Over my lifetime (nearly 50) I've owned many vacuums, both canister and upright. I am also hard on my vacuums. Several years ago while shopping for vacuums, my boyfriend purchased me an "industrial" Hoover for Valentines Day.
Compared to Hoovers, Eurekas and Oreck, you can't beat the performance. Mr. Dyson knows how to make a quality vacuum. I hope to have mine for many years. For me, it's Dyson all the way.
Am I happy I purchased a Dyson? Yes!
