I recently purchased the Dyson DC18 and have been very happy with my purchase. The only drawbacks are the short cord and small dirt collection container. The vacuum works very well, is lightweight and very easy to maneuver. I would recommend this product.
This vacuum sucks, and I don't mean that in a bad way I mean it has good suction power, better then any of the vacuums that I have ever bought. I vacuumed with an old vacuum and steamed clean my carpets and then used the dyson and it still picked up more then both of them combined. I wouldn't ever go back to anything else. The dyson does the job and it's just wonderful. I've had mine for a little over a year and I haven't had any problems with it.
I love this vacuum cleaner. I have 2 dogs and 2 cats that are inside animals! I have an area rug, linoleum, laminate flooring and wall to wall carpet in my home. This mighty machine cleans them all well. I love the convenience of the button to raise and lower the beater bar when traveling from carpet ot laminate or linoleum. I would like to speak especailly about the area rug. It is a beautiful wool Karastan rug that was our one purchase for our new home, as you can imagine with the animals, I have to vacuum everyday.
