Great price

This e z up provided us nice shade at a super low price. It does take at least 2 people to put it up but it goes up fairly quickly and easily. I have taken mine down twice and noticed several tiny tears so I am not sure how long it will last. It won't take the wind without weights or a good tie down... read full review »

Most Helpful Critical Review

I purchased the EZ-UP 12 x 14 canopy. I thought it would be perfect for when we went camping.  It was up for about an hour. We were away from our site and a quick florida rain came up . We returned to find a mangled mess.  K mart customer service told us they would arrange for a pickup and do something...

We bought our EZ Up "shelter" 2 months ago and it has been rained on 2x's. The first rain (1/4 ") there was some pocketing, which with my first-up was normal the first time as the cover "weatherized" its self. The second rain (1/2") with my EZ Up was at night and it bent the frame. When I called EZ Up to inquire about the warranty the customer service rep said it would not be covered since the canopy was for shade not rain. OMG how can you call it a"shelter". I would not and can not recommend this product. I will stick with my First-Up that I have had for 5 years. It has survived numerous torrential...

Short product life

I used my canopy for one 6-mos. season of outdoor craft shows before it fell apart. The pushpins for the leg and canopy extenders started breaking upon first use. I was able to use short screws to secure the leg extensions. Then the supports for the canopy started falling apart and I used duct tape for a few shows to keep the canopy together. Finally, a strong wind at one of the shows did it in and I had to discard the tent. The canopy material was not waterproof, rather it was water resistant. I'm going to look around for a better product.

Smart Plan is No Good

I enjoyed this shelter until a wind came up and turned it over and bent some of the suporters. I ask the Smart Plan for the suporters that were bent and they cannot replace them. They can only send the money back that I paid for it. I just went out on line and the price to buy one now is higher than the price I paid for this one. Not Good.

So Far So Good

I bought this for a family BBQ. About 20 minutes after putting it up the skys opened up and the rains came. I found out that this shelter is almost rain proof. It did leak a little, but there was ALOT of rain. The skys cleared and the shelter provided lots of shade the rest of the day. It was easy to put up and take down. It is very well built, especially for the price. Outside of the little bit of water that leaked through with the heavy rains I was impressed on the first use. Hopefully it will continue to impress.

Very good for price

Item provides alot of shade and has solar lining that's very effective. Need at least 2 to set-up unit. Top handle of carry bag was obviously poorly designed as it ripped the first time I tried rolling it around, but I went to using top side handle and that worked for years. I would strap it down when there was a decent breaze, but I finally left it out all weak and of course a good strong wind did it in. When strapping down use the corners, not mid-sections. Since I knew I liked it I already have another waiting in the wings that I bought while they were on sale. Got lots of compliments on how... read full review »

A Bit Dissapointed

We received the item quickly for a great price. It was easy enough to set up. Unfortunately, we left it up for two days and it rained. It rained so hard that the frame bent. The reason for having a tent was incase of rain during a party. I haven't brought it back to Sears yet because I straightened out the bars and will see if they hold. It may be more of a hassle to bring back. Folding it up at this point seems impossible as well as lugging it to the store for a credit or exchange. I wish there was another tent as large made of a more flexible, and lightweight material. The tent is quite heavy... read full review »

12x14 canopy

great product and easy to use

Great for strong sun

We have had both this model and screen tents. This canopy model, because of the silver reflective lining inside, is far more comfortable and keeps you much cooler than the more expensive models with screens. The screen tents have no reflective material on the roof and become very uncomfortable. The screen really don't do much against the mosquitos anyway. We use the canopy in our garden to cover a picnic table and wading pool for our small children and it is just great. Just be careful to take it down if there is any chance of winds or it will fly away.
