LockedNordic Track Audiostrider 990 Pro Vs. Sole E25

Which one would you buy:  Nordic Track AudioStrider 990 pro for $999   or

Sole E25 for $999. Both have the same warranty, but sears offer an extended warranty to purchase for Nordic Track but not for Sole.  There are so many mixed reviews on Nordic Track??

I'm looking at thesee as well.  The Nordic Track 990 Pro is smooth, has the power incline which the Sole E25 does not have, and can vary stride from 18-20" but the E25 only has 20" stride...which may not be an issue for average to taller people.   The E35 has the power incline feature which I would use.  A friend has the E25 and loves it. She talked to Dick's Sporting Goods and they recommended the Sole brand over any other, hands down.  It looks like Sears is offering !0-20% off ellipticals this Sunday only, if ordering online so I'm needing to make a decision.  With that discount, I'm actually leaning toward the Sole E35. It would be about $200 more but not as many problems down the road it sounds like.

I debated between these two as well. The Sole is great and has a great warranty (if you splurge and get the E35, the E25 is not that much better) but when I tested out both of them, I thought the 990 Pro felt smoother. I was not a fan in general of the front wheel. The 990 Pro saves about $200 in shipping if you go pick it up at Sears. I ended up getting the 990 Pro and have not been disappointed with my decision (had it only a week though). I am planning on getting an extended warranty from Nordictrack since it is cheaper than the Sears one.

I guess it comes down to if you prefer the front drive or the rear drive. I personally love the front drive and believe that is where the elliptcial category has evolved. It's more compact and upright and a better motion. We tested both models as well and we've absolutely loved the Sole E25!!

Has anyone else tried the Nordictrack Pathfinder at Sears? Similar to the 990 Pro but with shock absorbers. The 990 seems to "lean" towards the front to me. Its all about the feel.

I tried both (Sole & Audiostrider Pro) and actually liked the Nordictrack better. My heels were lifting off of the pedals on the Sole, while they did not do this on the Nordictrack.

I ended up buying the Audiostrider 990 Pro from the NT website.

I got $75 off the price, no tax, no delivery fee, and a 3yr ext warranty for $149, and they threw in a free IFIT live module.

I also tried the Pathfinder at Sears, and it felt incredibly smooth. Actually better than the 990 Pro.

But I called up Nordictrack sales and asked a couple of guys which model is better (Audiostrider 990 Pro vs Pathfinder), and both said the 990 Pro was the better built unit.

I also read that the built in shocks can take away from the resistance, and incline of your workout.

To me, its just another part that can potentially break, so I just went with the Audiostrider Pro.

have you started using the ifit live yet? and how is going so far?  I just purchased the Audiostrider pro myself from Nordictrack website, it is a better deal than at sears, and also purchased the 3yrs premium warranty for $199.99 which is also a better deal comparted to the $260.00 sears charges you for.  Let me know how the Ifit live goes, I would rather pay the $129.00 without the monthly fees anyways cause it amounts to the same thing I think. Thanks.

Hi,

I am using the IFIT live, and its very cool when it works correctly. The big issue I am having (and I have read other people have as well) is that mine and my wife's workouts don't always get logged on the ifit live page which is really frustrating, as it kind of throws your whole "automated" workout routine off.

You can still go in manually to the ifit live site and add the next workout to your profile and the Elliptical will download it when you turn it on, but this should happen automatically if the software was working as it should.

Right now the Ifit live service is free due to s many issues they are having, and it should be because I would never pay for this service if it can't even reliably track my workouts.. that is kind of the point with this whole ifit live thing.

But for now, I can at least select from the large selection of Jillian Michaels workout programs, and add anyone I want to my routine for free, so that is cool, even though it doesn't always track my progress.

She talks to you alot and, and its just better and not as boring as the built in workouts.

But they have to get the workout tracking fixed before going out of BETA mode.

I am looking to purchase the E25 in the next few days from Dicks sporting goods store, does anyone have any negative experience with this equipment.  I have read reviews that compare one machine with the other but I want feedback on the E25 Sole neg or positve.

Thanks for your feedback.

I am looking at the pro too. Now that you have had it for awhile, are you still satisfied?  Does the pro have the magnetic wheel?  I heard that is better and lasts longer than the belt.  Was it a special they were offering with the $75. off and free deliveray and not tax?  Thanks

I went to dicks sporting good store and tried the E25, this machine is very stable and is nice built but it  made my knee twist, and put some stress on  them, aslo my heels lifted up the pedals i think this is because of the front drive in this machine  which has the feel  of working out on an stair climbing. The  same day i  tried the Nordic Track 990 and it felt much more comfortable on my knees and my heels never lifted from the pedals, the 990 pro is rear drive, i read that rear drives ellipticals  simulates the natural motion of walking or running and  the ride is smoother than front drives.
