Excellent tool. Very easy to use. Very effective. And affordable. The grip auger lock is especially nice. Grip and reverse drill to unlock and extend the line. Grip and forward drive drill to lock and spin the augur. Easier than messing with a screw lock.
I had this shower drain with a SERIOUS clog in it....water up to your ankles inside of 2 minutes serious. Based on the recommendations of others, I bought the Cobra 1/2 in x 50 ft drain snake. While I was in the store, I saw this power auger and figured it might make a nice thing to have for smaller clogs down the road, so I picked it up at the same time. When the 1/2 inch manual snake failed because I couldn't get it past the P-trap, I hooked this thing up to an 18V drill and it did the job. One bit of warning: the instructions state that this auger is designed to work at about 250-300 rpm. Mine...
