LockedWhat music do you like to drive to?

I'm driving a lot more now to get to work and need some good driving music. Something a little more mellow in the morning and something a bit more "perky" for the drive home. Any suggestions?

Well, if you want something that will keep your blood pumping while driving home, Motorhead's "No Sleep At All" album will make that drive go REALLY quickly. :)

Thanks! I'll be sure to check them out. Not that familiar with Motorhead, but sounds appropriate. :)

Something that makes me wanna drive fast.  When I hear ZZ Top's "La Grange", I think of a flat, straight, open road in the middle of nowhere...no cops for hundreds of miles.  And I've got the gas pedal of a brand new Corvette to the floor, with no plans to take my foot off it!  This is only a vision to me as I don't own a Corvette.  But it sounds like fun, right?

Just thought I would chime in again to tell you that I am listening to Metallica and Zeppelin right now.  You cannot go wrong with Zeppelin, and you must thank them for most of the music that is around now.  Jimmy Page and Elvis were great friend's.  It was a big story that towards the supposed end of Elvis's life, he actually walked Jimmy Page to his Limo after a visit.  The older music fans can definetley attest to this.

Also, I am not a big fan of Godsmack, but I thought they did a pretty good job at remaking "Good Times Bad Times" from Zeppelin.  That is one of those songs that just keeps getting louder for some reason.  I would be more than happy to send you some music if you would like.

This time of year, i like to listen to Don Henley's greatest hits CD, Actual Miles, and cruise with the windows down. A nice combination of upbeat and mellow, it has a very summer mood to it.

I also like Porcupine Tree's In Absentia for the same reason. Generally a bit more mellow, but seems to go along great with the weather and has a few upbeat segments here and there to keep you from falling asleep at the wheel.

The new Guns n Roses CD Chinese Democracy is downright amazing to drive to, great songs with tons of energy. (It was actually worth the 10 year wait, in my opinion.)

I'm also a bit partial to the new Nine Inch Nails CD The Slip, mostly hard rocking single worthy songs, with a couple instrumental segues and one soft slow song. Added bonus is you can download the whole album for free from nin.com (Free is good!)

These are all great suggestions - thanks, everyone! I'm always wishing I had new music to listen to, but not sure where to begin. This is really helpful.
