It all depends on what you do on a daily basis. iPod touches are good for people who obviously like their music to be with them at all times, but they're also great for people who need constant access to their email, IM clients, and other applications frequently throughout the day.

If you like to watch movies, YouTube, and especially listen to music, you may want to check it out. It has some pretty cool features.

Keep in mind that while iPod touches do have wireless internet capability, you'll need to be near a WiFi hotspot to use it. So if you have wireless internet inside your house, or your favorite place to eat offers WiFi, the iPod touch may be good for you.

If you don't need all of those fancy features, I'd check out the iPod nano, as you may be able to save yourself quite a bit of money, while still getting a great MP3 player!

The ipod touch is the best overall MP3 experience on the market. The multimedia functions are amazing, it makes you realize why the iPhone is the most dominant phone on the market.

Hey, my sister got a free itouch with her apple computer. Not sure if that offers still avaliable or if it was only for college students but you should check on that. iPod touches I think are pretty cool just for the wow awesome technology factor, but as a neccessity...not really...you don't need that much strorage space for your music.

I had an iPod touch.  My wife bought it for my birthday last year.  It's the gateway device to an iPhone.  I never cared about he iPhone until I had the iPod touch.  I think the iPod touch is a really cool device.  I'd definitely suggest it.  You do have to bear in mind, though, as ElectronicsGuy said, you can't get online just anywhere with it, like you can an iPhone.  But it's cool for the music, you can convert your DVDs and put them on it to watch, and it's got great applications.

I LOVE my iPod touch. I'm not interested in an iPhone for a lot of reasons. The iPod touch gives you a ton of the benefits without having to change your carrier.

I also just downloaded the new iPod Touch update for $4.95. It lets you shuffle your iPod by shaking it. Who knew that would be so much fun!

Goof luck finding an IPod touch at a sears store. I've spent the past 2 hrs trying to find one for my daughter's birthday. Wal-Mart has them in stock in all nearby locations within 75 miles. I wanted to use my Sears card, but alas, no Sears or K-Mart within 150 miles has any. Hmmm. guess I'll have to take ALL my business to the competition

With the release of the new iPod Touch on September 1, the old stock was allowed by Apple to sell out. They're very strict with how much new stock goes out and when, and it's not up to the retailer when new product comes in. They decided to let the old stock dwindle to nothing in anticipation of the new iPod Touch, and as a result most Sears locations completely sold out long before the new product has even begun shipping. Remember, resellers are NOT Apple's main priority; Apple stores are.

Ipod touch is the only mp3 player you will ever need, it plays music, videos , you can surf the net, download apps, listen to music , read e books , read comics , play games and so much more.
