“bottom of the barrel”

Essential Home 16 in. Oscillating Fan — 

I ordered this fan online for store pick up for my elderly mother. When I went to the s tore to pick it up I was told there was no more in stock. they told me that often the online information does not match the "actual stock" situation. I urged them to take another look. The stock clerk brought up f rom the back of the stockroom a battered, beat-up looking box that was taped together with packing tape. I decided to take it as she really needed a fan immediately. I pulled out all the parts to make sure nothing was missing. The base of the stand was missing 3 small screws, but someone must have found a base from another fan and stuck that in there. I cobbled together the mismatched pieces and got the fan assembled and running. It works well, and solved the problem. the problem was not with the actual fan, but the miscommunication between Sears' online sales and their actual stores. I won't shop that way again at Sears...very disappointing
