This is the most robust hammer I have ever owned, and the only solid steel drilling hammer I've ever seen. This is one solid piece of steel, with no wood underneath. Only downside is that the recoil is consequently greater. Despite being all steel, it is not overly heavy- the weight is well balanced.
I used this tool to bang a chisel and take body panels off a unibody vehicle in a junkyard. This hammer was always a pleasure to reach for. Sometimes I use it to give a tap to the end of ratchets, when I am faced with overtightened nuts.
This is a fairly high price for a hammer, but I would say it's a fair price since it might be the best hammer available. It has a very comfortable handle and a great blue finish. The picture doesn't do it justice. If you want a big hammer, you can't do better.
