Awesome saw!

I've had this saw for a month now, and decided to try it out when my ************** chop saw finally died.  I was cutting a lot 2"x2"x0.25" box steel and it just killed the old saw.  This saw cuts through it like butter.  Plus I get nicer cuts and less heat.  I've also been using it on 1.75" OD x0.120 wall tubing, and its been a monster.  I'm very happy with it, I just hope the blade last as long as they say.

This saw is incredibly awesome. It will cut through anything. I waited for weeks to buy it due to financial reasons but the wait was well worth it. Fast, clean, cold cuts with almost no sparks and very tiny burrs. The first thing you see when you open the box is safety goggles and hearing protection showing Evolutions dedication to safety. And you really should use them as the saw tends to fling shavings everywhere. the saw does all the work, no more forcing an abrasive wheel to cut through it. Abrasive dust is toxic. No more toxic dust here. They claim 1000 cuts per blade, ill get back to you...

I've only had the saw for a short while.  My past experience is with abrasive saws only.  Initial impression is this machine is of a much higher quality, fit and finish when compared to the only saw I found for a similar price.  As usual, shipping was quick and easy.  I've only made a few cuts so far but it seems to perform well.  I chose to order this saw through Sears because of past experience despite finding it for $30 less at another online retailer. (By Sears policy, price match did not apply because it was an internet only retailer with no local store.)

For the negative side: the saw...

Good Tool for the Money

I've been using the chop saw for a month now to cut steel conduit and structural tubing. It does a real nice job - a quick cut, reasonably good finish and an easy to break burr at the base of the cut. Fit and finish on the saw is OK and it isn't too noisy. For my use it beats the heck out of an abrasive cut-off saw.

I have used other carbon blades and this one blows them away. If you are looking at stepping up your metal work this is the unit for you. I use to have to cut the metal then grind off a lot more metal. With this all you have to do is cut and go.

The Evolution Rage saw is everything they claim it is. It doesnt take up as much room as my other miter saws, you dont have to change blades when cutting different materials, and it produces fast and clean cuts. This is truly a valued addition to my shop and would definitely recommend to anyone who works with a variety of different materials in their shop.

Great saw for the money. Very happy with it.

The saw came in one day later than the given delivery date and the given tracking number for UPS did not work; however, Sears kept in touch with the handling status. When I opened the box, I was surprised at the ruggedness of the saw; we have one at work that cost twice the money and doesn't perform any better. Another surprise was the extra features and attachments that Sears did not show in their description; it has a piece that slides over the vise that helps hold tubing/pipes in place, it works wonderfully. It also did not describe the extra set of brushes for the motor or the chip collection...
