Firefly is a rare show. Great acting, great directing. Serious stories with lots of humor. Extremely quotable. The concept of a western set in space seems odd, but works surprisingly well.
This show only lasted I believe 14 episodes but each one is a gem. The show was not given enough of a chance to find it's audience and could very well been a hit if it hadn't been shuffled around and tinkered with. The acting was first rate and the character were likable. The scripts were extremely well writen and for a TV show, the special effects and were excellent as were all the production values. In short, this show was the epitome of excellent TV. There is a movie that was eventually made to wrap up the series and tie up the loose ends.
Firefly-The Complete Series, soared into our home last year and we are hooked by it's claws of clever plots and talons of entertainment; full of life, passion, color, characters, romance, action, and comedy. If you would like to escape from your world into a sci-fi world that is full of the unexpected and crosses over many divides of the unimaginable for adults then you have found it. My husband and I are big fans of Firefly. We can watch the series over and over again without getting bored. We actually purchased the movie Serenity first. We loved it so much, we went online to find out more about Joss Wheddon. That's when we discovered Firefly. The acting is great but it was the futuristic western like setting that hooked us. Mr. Wheddon had a gem here!
