LockedNordic track treadmill - mylar sheet replacement

posted on October 07, 2009 at 12:17PM Inappropriate?

I have a Nordic Track treadmill model: NTTL09900, The mylar sheet which is located below the belt and above the cushioning is tearing up. This is causing slippage when walking on the treadmill and the noise is ugly! Any idea whether i need a totally new deck or can I just replace the mylar sheet? Will Sears repair it for a fee? How much will it cost if Sears does it? Thanks for any info/advice you can give me

Hi. I am the associate buyer for fitness at Sears. Sears does not service NordicTrack equipment even with a protection agreement purchase. NordicTrack handles all repairs for this brand themselves inside and outside the warranty. What you can do is get directly in touch with NordicTrack at 800-825-2588 and they should be able to tell you your options for this issue.

Is that sheet supposed to be removed during assembly? Has the deck been lubricated appropriately? NordicTrack does all service on NordicTrack treadmills, so I would recommend calling the 800 number for NT service that appears on the manual and on the model/serial number plaque on the treadmill.

I believe the Nordic Track tech's have replaced those sheets on store display model treadmills, in the past.

Yes, you can replace the mylar with an inexpensive fix kit and the machine then runs good as new.  Contact Nordic Track at 888.825.2588.
