After the battery in my Volkswagen died it was somewhat of a process to figure out exactly why it had failed. I eventually figured out that it may have been a problem with my trunk, which wouldn't shut (causing the light to remain on and drain the power). I brought it into the Fletcher Jones Volkswagen and mentioned that it may or may not be the trunk that is causing the problem. They told me it would cost me $200 to diagnose the problem. This amount didn't include any servicing to my car and to fix the problem it probably would have been about $300+. Since this seemed to be a huge rip off to me I told them not to do anything to the car and took it to a small auto repair shop. They fixed my trunk latch for $45 and tested the battery to be sure that it was in fact the trunk causing the problem! If you are not under warranty stay away from this dealership!Last edited on Aug 06, 2008
