LockedPeanut Butter

Anyone know if the contaminated Peanut Butter problem has been solved?

The News doesn't report problems being "fixed", sort of like most of the people posting on this site.

Is it "safe" to buy Peanut Butter again?

I only buy natural peanut butters (peanuts and salt), so I don't really pay attention to that stuff. By the way, natural tastes WAY better. Give it a try sometime! We have a local brand, Teddie, but Smuckers also has a natural peanut butter. If there are more than three ingredients, you run the risk of salmonella.

thought the salmonella was caused by unsanitary conditions in the plant it was produced in and had nothing to do with weither it was natrual or how many ingredients it had. also wasant it just the kind used in items with peanut butter in it and not the stuff from the jar?

We like the Skippy natural PB.  There is no oil in the top, so you do not have to stir!  Good stuff!

That whole PB issue was nerve racking!  We go through A LOT of peanut butter in this house!  I don't know if that was all taken care of, but, I just started  buying the organic stuff at my grocery store.  It was never part of the recall, so I feel like we are pretty safe with it.

We like the Smuckers brand best. Also we prefer the oil on top because we can remove it. This gives a dryer product when mixed which we prefer

yes the major brands were never affected (nor was walmarts brand since i never got sick eating it) that plant mainly made PB that went into other things like snack crackers, cookies, ice cream, dog treats, etc.

My wife and her mother both love those disgusting gastronomic monstrosities.

Now, peanut butter and banana...THAT is another story!
