What's your never fail recipe for your Thanksgiving feast?  Do you have something you make every year that is a big hit?

I am always looking for something new to cook, that my whole family will enjoy!

I usually make a green bean caserole for family get togethers but this year I'm making Sauteed italian beans with roasted red peppers, I picked up the recipe from Publix Supermarket this past weekend. I'm looking forward to trying it :) I'll post up the recipe when I get a chance :)

Sweet potato and pineapple mashed potatoes.

It's a Weight Watchers recipe.

Delish!

Oddly enough the most popular thing I make every year is homemade cranberry sauce.  It's almost as quick and easy as opening a can of the stuff but it's 9000% times better.

I want your recipe, too aynfarika!  Sounds yum!

I usually do a bunch of roasted root vegetables, which are delicious and seasonal.  It also adds some color to the table.  I feel like there is a lot of beige food being served at our Thanksgiving!

I don't actually have the recipe written down as I just grab it off the back of the cranberry package every year.  It super easy though.  You just throw a bag of fresh cranberries in a pan with one cup of sugar and one cup of water, bring it to a low boil, let it boil for 10 minutes until the cranberries burst open and get all mooshy and nice.  Then let it sit for about a half hour (off the stove), transfer to a pretty dish and refrigerate.  It's super delicious.

My aunt makes it fresh too but she sometimes adds things to hers, like walnuts, oranges, and blueberries.  I like it just plain.

I modified the traditional cranberry sauce recipe, with a small can of mandarin oranges.

Very nice extra zing to the sauce.

Sounds great! Do you and your wife find it is too hot in San Jose to run the oven all day?

I love homemade cranberry sauce, although, I grew up with the canned sauce.   I don't think it is too bad!  It does the trick of balancing out all of the savory Thanksgiving dishes with something a little sweet and tangy, that's for sure.

We ran a 6 quart slow cooker and it has been fairly cold and drizzly around here, lately.

I hope no one blew-up their turkey-fryer, this year.

The magic word, so I'm told, is: DEFROSTED
