Do you think the "as seen on TV" stuff works?

I've never bought something I've seen on tv. But some people say that those things doesnt work as they say they work. What do you think?

Inappropriate?

I have tried a lot of as seen on TV items and find that some work well and some don't. I'm particular about what I buy andmake sure to read reviews from others who already own them before I buy though so I usually only but the stuff that other real people have tried and said work well.
