A lot of times the bunk bed comes in pieces and you assemble them. The matress/springs are twin size and may you could proabably tie them on top of your car or perhaps you have a neighbor or co worker whom has a small truck and can run by and pick the bed up for you.

Most furn. stores have small trucks and as tight as the economy is you can work on the price as well as tell them they have to deliver it. Perhaps one of their asso. can deliver it on the way home at no cost for th deliver if they want the sale,

I see that you are a Marine wife. Thank your husband for his service to our country as well as thank you as I know you have also sacrificed. My son has been out for a little over a year. I am not sure where your town in NC is located but if it is close to Lejune then perhaps one of his fellow Marines in his unit can arrange for the delivery if he is across the water. When a group ships out there are individuals in the unit that stay stateside to take care of the business here for those that have shipped. I am not sure if you get the monthly news letter from his company but if so there are phone numbers in there as well as names and email addresses that are there for YOU. I know that there are support groups on base. You may could give one of the groups a call and they have access to plenty of idividuals to help you.

I realize this post was from many months ago, but Kmart sells bunk beds and you can order online and have delivered to you.

Alright...

My brother and I shared bunk beds for a while.

I think I was on the top bunk.
