Sears carries lots of Stearns & Foster mattresses. They're actually one of the better coil mattress manufacturers, which is why their prices are higher than Sealy or Serta.

Hi There, societygarlic-Welcome to MySears.  We bought a Stearns and Foster mattress back when we had no kids (meaning-we had a little more money to throw around).  Love it!  It is over 10 years old, now, and really holds it firmess well-just a huge change from our older mattress.  One bad thing about it, now, when we are on vacation or visiting family, I can't sleep!  I usually am too uncomfortable!  The other bit of advice we learned is to rotate it every 6 months or so.

You will be SO happy with that new purchase!  Come on back to the site once you have had it for a couple of weeks and let us know how you like it.

Wow, I must say congrats to these folks for having such good luck with their Stearns & Foster mattress.  We never bought ours at Sears, but maybe Sears receives different styles/grades???  We have bought the higher end price mattress and thank heaven it came with a 10 yr warranty.  We will be going on our "fifth"replacement!!!  The mattress loses it's support in the middle and since they are not reversible all we can do is rotate. That doesn't work. They all are on the firm side.  Sears must have magic!

Stearns & Foster is widely recognized as a superior brand of innerspring mattress. I can't speak for individual experiences or particular models carried by particular retailers, but overall S&F is superior to Sealy, Serta, and Simmons at similar price points.

Sorry, I can't say that we are happy with out Sterns and Foster mattress.  I have a backache everyday!  Have put a board under it, padding on top of it tried a lot of different fixes.  They won't replace it because it doesn't sag with no weight on it.  I spent a lot of money for a "top of the line" mattress and foundation.   For about 18months it was fine but then the backaches started because it sags so bad.  Don't spend big money on this brand, get a less expensive brand and change it out in a few years if it fails.

We have had S&F for almost 5 years. Mattress started sagging only after few months of use, and we could not get any response back from Sears or S&F, since the warranty states the indentaion must be 1 1/2inch or more. Well now it is five years since we have had it and the indentation is more than 1 1/2inch and we are still getting the run around. DO NOT BUY STERN and FOSTER product and DO NOT BUY anything from Sears.

We have a Stearns and Foster we bought from another well know bedding store...paid dearly for it then and still paying!!!  Sad to say, it has been a real disappointment!  Sags one each side and high in the middle...As earlier stated, can't do anything but rotate....big deal, sags either way we turn it.  I guess Sears must have magic mattresses!

I am now 56 yrs old, but when I was 5 yrs my parents bought me a sterns and foster matress...It was still used by guests in our home after I went away to college and when I was 30 yrs old it was given to me, for my children. about 10 years ago, we finally took it out of my son's room and trashed it....So I believe the mattress lasted about 40 years....

For everyone with mattress problems, I have a few questions.

1. What size is the mattress? If it is king or queen do you have a frame with a center support?

2. Have you ever stood/jumped or sat on the edge of the bed?

3. Have you ever gotten the bed wet, in any way, I wont go into specifics.

4. Have you rotated your mattress monthly?

5. Are you using the manufacturers compatible foundations for the mattress?

We had a Sealy mattress that sagged and had to be replaced within a year.  We "upgraded" to a Stearns and Foster (same company btw.. it's Sealy) and the same **** started happening!  On a $2500 bed!  Well we bought a pillowtop and they wouldn't do anything unless there was an inch and a half sag and pillowtops hide sag very well so I highly suggest AVOID Stearns and Foster!  BTW, I also bought in Ohio at a mattress store.

Oh and after the first debacle with the Sealy we set the box spring and bed on the FLOOR to be SURE it wasn't the frame giving us problems.  It was a king size bed.  We never abused or sat on the edge of our bed.  It's all the ****** workmanship!

Sears is dedicated to resolving any issues you may have with your mattress purchase. I would suggest getting in touch with the store advisor. Your salesperson should also be able to handle most issues you might have with a mattress purchase from Sears. I'm a Sales Consultant in a Sears store in the mattress department and it is a top priority to me ensure customer satisfaction!

We recently purchased a S&F mattress set.  The day of delivery we were told that the mattress was not made and could not be delivered until the following week.  Cannot give delivery times requested you are at their mercy.  There is no costumer service.  They are given scripts to read that are not intended to help you as the costumer.  Well our son had to be here to accept the mattress.  When I got home the bed did not look like what we ordered but I made the bed.  This weekend while talking with my husband I told him it was taking time to get used to the bedi.  I explained that it did not look like what we thought we were getting.  He admitted that he did not think it felt like it did in the store and then I told him.

To say the least we spent good money on this mattress.  Lets see if the service gets any better.  Not even an email address to Brian at Searscares.com has even responded to my email about the service that we had received so far. The store essentially said they could not help with the delivery service.

Lets see what their costumer service is like when I explain that it is not like the bed we were sitting on while the order was being written up.  Their model numbers on the receipt are Greek.  Did they substitute a cheaper mattress?

'Mattress-World' is nothing but an insane labyrinth of fraud, confusion, and theft.

If Sears REALLY valued their customers, they would stop selling mattresses that are ****. They would put their foot down and DEMAND, (from the manufactuers), mattresses that are exemplary, not shoddily-made.

Search for 'What's The Best Mattress', and read all about the BIG S mattresses Sealy, Sterns, Simmons, Serta, Spring Air et al. Read about people actually tearing their mattresses apart to see what's REALLY in there as far as foam-padding is concerned... nothing but PU Foam which sags in 20-minutes as everyone in the mattress industry well knows.

Read about the numerous letters to various State Attorney's General, and a movement to bring Class-Action law suits against all these companies for what is tantamount to outright THEFT; first, for selling a product that WILL NOT & CANNOT live up to its advertised claims; and, second, for refusing to honour the Warranties which are written to instill a seeming safety-net to the public, but in reality DEFRAUDS them and protects the manufacturing companies instead.

People are out thousands and thousands of dollars with NO recourse. Their backs are broken from sleeping on a mattress with a 1 1/2" sag that is not covered by the Warranty. How do you think they came up with the 1 1/2" RULE in the first place? They already KNOW that's the cut-off sinkage... that most mattresses won't sag past it. But, you see, to a 'sleeping person', sagging 1", 1 1/4", or 1 1/2" will kill your back.

Under-handed business tactics in the form of making comparison-shopping impossible, (because every mattress in every different store is re-named), adds fuel to the fire of the public's confusion.

Sears is complicit in both foisting this junk on their loyal customers, as well as engaging in such nasty business practices. So, Sears Salespeople and Customer Service Reps, take THAT to your CEO. Let him/her get on the ball and DO SOMETHING about this immoral, unethical, and downright unconsionable state of affairs.

Let Sears LEAD THE WAY to 'doing the right thing' simply because it's the right thing to do.

Hi pdafodil!  Brian from SearsCares did not receive an email from you.  I did pass along your information to him to contact you.  If you would like, you can also send me a private message with your phone number and name, as well.  SearsCares will contact you directly, to look into this matter for you.

But that was when they were made in America with pride and quality materials. Now it's cheap, fast and from China.

Sounds like you need a different support level, may not be correct for your body's distribution.  Check out the estate line offered by Mattress Firm for a thicker coil density, more advanced coil and an additional 5 year warranty that comes free (Total 15 years)!
