Forest River 2008 Forest River Flagstaff 206 LTD - —
After owing a used Coleman pop-up and having an unfortunate auto accident with it, we were in the market for a new pop-up.
We purchased a brand new 2008 Forest River Flagstaff 206 LTD. In the showroom, the trailer looked great and had more options that we really wanted, but the price was so low, we couldn't say no. Caution! You get what you pay for.
During the first week of camping, we noticed that the floors were very "spongy". We took the trailer back to the dealership and learned that Forest River does not put floor supports in their pop-ups. All that prevents you from going through the floor is thin plywood and linoleum. I was very stern with the dealership and they ended up welding some metal supports under the floor. It still isn't right.
Other quality issues include:
- The door does not properly align
- The automatic lift system quits working sporadically, leaving you stranded
- The roadside assistance program from Forest River is USELESS
- A walnut fell from a tree and actually broke the cheap roof
- The hitch does not work properly, and it often takes many attempts to get it on the ball
For being a brand new trailer, I cannot believe how poor the quality is. I would never recommend this brand to anyone. As soon as I can, I am going to go back to Coleman/Fleetwood.
