The freezer is just 5 years old. I used it for about a year when we first got it, utilizing a handy temperature control to keep the temp between 40 and 50 for fermenting lager and it worked great. I stopped brewing for about 4 years, shut off the freezer and cleaned it good. Now I am brewing again and went to put my beer in it and all it does is make a sort of boiling noise, but does not cool at all. The compressor seems to be running. I spoke with a sears repairman that suggested I could spend double what it is worth trying to fix it and another repairman who suggested the same. It is of course out of warranty now and it looks brand new and is clean inside and out but it seems foolish to toss it out. Can I trouble shoot it and potentially fix it?
