Light trouble

My husband and I bought this tree after searching for 2/3 years for a beautiful artificial tree. We were blown over in the store when we saw it. It was a bit pricey...($399.00), but it was so beautiful-and pre lit, so we bought it. We put it up immediatly when we got home. 3 of the 4 sections of lghts came right on, the second from he bottom was out. So i called the number that came on the instruction sheet, and after getting the 3rd degree on model numbers proof of purchase, etc, they sent me out a new string of lights for that section. In the mean time, we took the tree back to sears to exchange it, because the reason I bought a pre lit tree was so I didnt have to string lights! the new tree worked fine last yr, we had so many compliments it was amazing! this year we put the tree up, and i gotta tell you, I forgot how beautiful it was. but guess what???? the SAME set of lights was out. Now there seems to be a short in the plug at that section of the tree! I will have to restring the lights as I am afraid of fire. So, im wondering, if anyone else is having this problem....
