I purchased this microwave in Sept 08 to replace a 12 year old Sharp. The turn table stopped working after just a few uses, I bought the microwave just to heat things up, 5 minutes or less and for popcorn. So now, I have to stop the microwave and turn whatever is being heated, so I don't have cold spots. After reading the reviews, I guess I'm lucky that it hasn't shut off completely.
I purchased this item in August and in two months I need another one. First the glass plate broke after making some popcorn, then sometimes the thing just wouldn't work at all. Don't waste your time!!!
I MUST OF HAD ABOUT THREE OF THEM AND MINE ALWAYS LAST FOR EVER MY DOOR WOULDN'T SHUT I CANT GO WITH OUT ONE.........SO I HAD TO GO AND PICK ONE UP TODAY
I purchased one of these about 8 years ago and it was great and lasted forever. The second one I purchased lasted about 6 months and then the 3rd less than 3 months.. I was disappointed because its a great size and the first one was great..
I purchased this microwave in Dec 2008, about a month ago.
It actually works very well. It is very small in size. You can only
fit a ten inch plate inside without it touching the sides. I would not recommend cooking in this microwave. Food burns easily.
Popcorn especially. It runs hot. Warming food up is what it's best at. It does come with a rotating turntable, which I like a lot.
I Purchased this microwave on 3/15/08. Use it mainly to heat up water to make tea and in little over 3 month (6/22/08) the unit shut off and never turn back on. prior to this unit I had a Sharp Carrousel that lasted me 11 years and still working I put it in the garbage because the LED display was out. I regret it. I will not recommend this unit to any one. and I personally never buy a GE Microwave.
A previous reviewer said this unit only lasted her 3 months before it conked out.....I got almost 7 months before mine gave out....same thing, no clock display or anything else! I'm done with GE microwaves also!!
I bought mine new 3 years ago and 3 months ago it started shutting off when I tried to heat something over 3 minutes. Each time I had to reset the clock and start again. It might go for another 30 seconds and then shut off again. I called GE (of course it isn't under warranty anymore) and they said "it's the heating sensor - just throw it out and buy another one." I didn't appreciate her cavalier attitude and called customer service. They were a little more sympathetic and sent me a $50 certificate to buy another one. I still have to figure out how to dispose of this one! I think an appliance should...

The apartment I've recently moved to has very little counter space and this microwave came in handy. We went for about 2 weeks without a microwave because I felt that it would take up what little space I have. The reviews I read prior to purchasing this machine really influenced my purchase. I works great and I'm glad I purchased it.
The roller arm broke and when I contacted GE I was told the part was unavailable!! The part is easly broken (cheap) and the oven is unusable without it. GE service rep was not helpful and suggested I may find a used part at the dump!!
This is a small but fully functional microwave, and it comes in handy with all the buttons for heating things up. We like it a lot!
We purchased this microwave over 2 years ago, and it's been working very well. It's small enough to fit into any space in the kitchen and it's very easy to use. Lots of option button for different heating needs. Overall, it's a great small microwave.
I wanted a smaller than full size unit to put on the side table in my dining room to keep my kids out of the kitchen. This unit fits just right; for the popcorn and other snacks. I am very happy.
