“Quite Loud and Frosty; But May Be a Good Product”

I recently bought this model, and must agree that it is VERY NOISY.  (Even as I write) The noise level rages throughout my condo, and is louder than my microwave; it sounds like a car engine running outside the house. When the noise begins to subside, the fridge sounds like it is breaking down.  Also, the interior and glass shelves do frost easily when the door is open for only a few seconds, which concerns me about the long run.  I've read the owner's manual for possible causes for the noise, and used it to make sure that the controls are set appropriately and that it was installed properly, which...

“NOT WHAT I EXPECTED”

I bought a GE because I had owned one before and was very pleased with it. I'm sorry to say that this one is awful. This fridge is supposed to be frost free. Well, my ice pops, bagels and breads have little crystals of ice on them. I got a replacement and have the same problem. My kitchen is narrow and I need a fridge with a width of 28". GE seems to be the only company that makes this width. Another reviewer mentioned that the motor is noisy. Not only is it noisy but it makes a lot of different noises. Much to my dismay, I will have to pick out another GE because of my kitchen space problem.... read full review »

“GE Freezer may be frost free but ice builds up on bottom”

Freezer may be frost free but ice keeps building up on bottom of freezer.

“Noisy Beast”

My sister bought this refrigerator at the local sears store for 569 with a 100 dollar mail in rebate. Her only complaint is that it is VERY NOISY when the motor is running. I have heard it myself too and it is noisy especially when its in the nighttime and the house is quiet. We dont know if this is just a bad motor or NORMAL. Other then that it looks fine and operates fine. So that is our only major complaint. We are going to call for service to see if we can rectify this situation
