“Works great”

I bought this for our kitchen remodel in March 2008 based on Consumer Reports high rating. I've had no issues with it - it works great. I just use for re-heating food, frozen dinners, popcorn, etc. Don't really use it to make main dinners. I would recommend based on how good it's been for me.

“Item keeps shutting off, needing to be reset”

Item keeps shutting completely down when pressing the "time set" function button. Item has done this since purchase of (4) four months ago. “Best Microwave for the money”

 

I like this over range microwave; my old one, which I had for over 10 years had finally stopped working, so I decided to buy the same GE appliance. I am glad they still make them. It was 85 dollars more than the GE cheaper model but it is worth the money. It does everything exactly the way it supposed to be. I've had no issues with it - it works great. I use it a lot and it is reliable to handle all the uses.

“Needed repair by GE once it came out of the box”

I ordered this from sears.com and received it in about a week- faster than anticipated.  The oven came well packaged and undamaged.  I prepared it for a fresh installation (kitchen remodel) and after installation I quickly realized that when the door was shut a fan would turn on.  The instructions mentioned an automatic fan but didn't go into much detail.  I called GE and they asked me to unplug it and plug it back in and open/close the door four times.  Didn't fix the fan.  We scheduled a repair person to come out the following week to repair the oven.  When the repair person arrived,...

“GE Profile Microwave JVM1850 - died in less than 2 yeras”

Purchased in Dec 2008 and tonight, July 2010, it died. Called GE but hey no longer have a service department to talk to. Recommendation, have some one come out (for $95), and see if it can be fixed. But only part covered after 1 year is magnatroin and htat doe snot include labor.

“Dont Waste Your Money!”

I just bought this microwave on 8/20/2008 and one week later I had to call the repair man. The vent fan does not work and the cooking temperature is off. When you cook popcorn it only half cooks the bag and if you use the beverage feature, your beverage is not hot. This is not a cheap unit, I expected a quality unit but got a dud.

“Where does the air go . . .”

After extensive research, with air cleaning being a priortiy, we settled on the Kenmore 1850 over the stove microwave. How disappointed we are - our older GE Model was much more effective. What we can't understand is why the cfm does not do a better job. If you cook anything that creates an odor, like fish, etc., forget this unit. I know we will be changing the unit out even if it is new.

“GE Microwave”

I ordered this microwave/convection oven combination on-line. Sears delivery called me when they were going to make the delivery. Delivery was on -time and didn't require waiting around for hours. Unit is great! Installation instructions were very good. My wife always worries when she sees me starting a project like this, but it wnet flawlessly. We have used the convection oven feature as well as the microwave cooking and have been really impressed!
