This dryer has convinced me to never again buy another GE product. The knobs on these wear out repeatedly. We found a company to replace them.. but I count 5 in about 1 year. Here's a tip when you go to the shop pull one of the knobs out and take a look to see if the attachment point is cracked. I tried to steal one from Sears.. but to my dismay someone had already beaten me to it, and replaced the knob on the the store model with their own cracked one. Secondly.. it takes FOREVER to dry. The moisture sensor just doesn't work. We had the repairman in to check it out.. and he checked...
read full review »We have had this washer AND dryer set for NINE yrs now and have had NO problem with it, I absolutely love the pair. I have to buy the electric set now due to moving and I am buying the same set. It washes quite well and dries rather quickly. We have never needed to have it fixed and would def recommend this product to fam and friends.
This dryer was no good and it is not any better then the matching washer that continues to go out during a cycle and I have to restart it. The motor in the dryer went out after just a year!
Initially we were happy with it and everything worked fine. Gradually near the end of the first year it would vibrate and rumble in a periodic fashion corresponding to the backward/forward travel of the lightweight drum. GE replaced the front plastic support for the friction bearings. According to the service tech, that plastic would warp out over time and create the issue. The replacement supposedly had a more stable plastic material. After a couple of months the rumble/vibration returned. GE then tried replacing the drum on the possibility that is was warped.
